Checked out the official site - there's a typo on it. "Annoucement trailer".
Damn it, Atlus...

Best narrative: Alan Wake 2.
Pfft. Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed has a more enjoyable narrative.
I'd say Alan Wake 2 was a good game - IF it focused more on Alan frickin' Wake himself, instead of wasting most of its runtime on a female SWAT member. Like, c'mon.

Best Art Direction: Alan Wake 2
Also bull. Pikmin 4 looks way more beautiful, and it's a Switch game. Or, for multiplatform games, Hogwarts: Legacy, or Star Wars (performance issues don't inherently damage art direction, unless it's unplayable without reducing visual quality).

Best Action/Adventure: Tears of the Kingdom
*Rolls eyes*
That tedious piece of garbage, that didn't fix ANY of the massive issues present in BotW, or even try to be more like a proper Legend of Zelda game? That's hogwash. Best Action/Adventure this year is Pikmin 4, or Hogwarts Legacy, or Star Wars. One of those, at least.
...At least this frustrating betrayal didn't win GotY, like BotW did before. That's something I'm happy about.

GotY being Baldur's Gate 3 is fine. I've heard that's an excellent game, and it doesn't annoy me like TotK or Alan Wake 2, so it's fine. Congrats, BG3!

Sega had one of the best (possibly the best) announcement, honestly with all these cuts I thought it was just remakes but nope. New Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, even Golden Axe ?? And damn Jet Set Radio looks so fucking SICK

Surprised to see no mention of Virtua Fighter, at first I thought it would be about that but no

Not gonna lie this show was an embarassment. They're not even trying to hide that this is an advertising billboard first and an awards show second. They gave award winners such little time to give a speech (even if they needed a translator), but give all the time in the world to random celebs who don't play games and embarassing musical numbers. The only ACTUAL gamedev that was treated well here was Kojima and that's because Keighly stays on his meat year after year, year-round.

This is pretty much how I feel about the awards themselves. How can they expect an audience to care at all about the awards when the show itself clearly doesn't? I'd love for the winners to get a decent slot to talk about the game, the development, stories about specific parts. Just giving a bit of a spotlight to the industry and the people behind the scenes.

As it is now it's just a platform for announcements with a few rushed winners thrown between trailers. I really think the award show can work, but what it is now is just sad.

Free God of War Ragnarok DLC and Alan Wake 2 New Game+ & FInal Draft update both arriving next week were the biggest two announcents for me. I'll be picking up World of Goo, Hellblade II, and Black Myth Wukong for sure. Undecided yet on a few others.

@Chary Maybe change the OP to read Senua's Saga: Hellblade II rather than Senua's Saga 2? Also, perhaps add the Alan Wake New Game+ / Final Draft update coming Dec. 11th. It's significant imo as it actually adds new story content. If you want to add it, it was announced after it won Best Game Direction right towards the end. If not, oh well. lol :)
