I followed tutorial from the first post and all went absolutely fine. I can boot to emuNAND just fine. However, if run cubicninja->FBI->Install CIA I always gets error message. Running pasta (to be precise cubicninja->pasta->cubicninja->FBI->Install CIA ) works just fine. However, with pasta, packages are installed on sysNAND, which makes use of ReiNAND completely pointless.

According to https://gbatemp.net/threads/installing-cias-in-reinand.393648/, a Devmenu was supposed to be copied to emuNAND during step 3, but I tried it guide 2 times - and all installed applications disappear after "format emunand".

Any tips on how to install .cia files to emuNAND from ReiNAND?
You have to install the title manager (DevMenu, BigBlueMenu) to your sysNAND while it and your emuNAND are still linked.

Thanks. I just followed all steps from tutorial one more time (expect for "Step 6: Unlinking Sysnand from Emunand"). So I am assuming my sysNAND and emuNAND are still linked, right?

Once again, I did cubicninja->pasta->cubicninja->FBI->Install CIA->DevMenu. If reboot N3DS - I don't see it. If boot to Pasta - I do, and can run it. If I boot to ReiNAND - I can see it, but launching shows error "software title can not be launched". What do I do wrong?

Your NANDs are still linked at that point, yes. You won't be able to see your title manager on sysNAND without the Pasta patches running, so that's normal. You should be able to see and access it on your emuNAND before unlinking, though. At least that's what I remember... To be honest, I'm out of my depth on it when it comes down to the nitty-gritty technical stuff. I can't code to save my life, but I'm pretty good at following directions and eventually am able to understand how some things work by digging around.

Big noob here. I was able to get the homebrew launcher working...installed the first posts files...but no luck. I see PastaCFW...ReiNand....and FBI. If I click on any of them my N3DS locks up. My system in 9.0.0-20U. Any ideas? I am on a mac (makes some of the cfw downloaders unable to work). I tried PastaCFW....but was not able to download the firmware (got an error). Frustrating.

hey since this thread was bumped, I was searching to see if I could just update reinand from 2.1 to 3.0. I used this thread to install reinend 2.1 on a N3ds. (mset)

All you have to do is move over and replace 2.1 reinand files with 3.0 Pretty sure ;0

Hi, I've tried to boot Launcher.dat by ninjhax, but no matter how I do it always load boot.3dsx (hbc). I tried removing boot.3dsx and doesn't load anything... I don't know what to do, sure is always I didn't do but I don't know what... (obviously I'm with a N3DS 9.2)

Thanks friends.

EDIT: Solved, I was using ninjhax qr instead GW provided qr. Feel so dumb..xD

Is Ninjahax the only non-Gateway method in installing Reinand on the New 3DS XL under firmware version 9.2.0.20U?
http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Exploits
You can use smashbroshax, ninjhax and browserhax to get homebrew. Get the starter kit from here https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip
There you should use the menuhax installer to have a permanent entry point (Choose Type 2 Boot so it boots into homebrew every time).
(I recommend you use aureinand instead of reinand, if you want to then--v)
Get the aureinand files from https://github.com/AuroraWright/AuReiNand/releases .
Put the 3ds, aurei folders and the .dat file inside your sd card root and, IF you want to boot into cfw every single time instead of homebrew launcher, put the contents of the boot.3dsx in the root of your sd card too.
(If not, do the same but with the reinand files which you can get from here http://pastebin.com/m2CX4U8x you only need the reinand cfw files)

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I just found the tutorial attached on this thread not even mentioning of this. Do you know of a link which gives a step-by-step method of installing Reinand to a New 3DS XL unit using the BrowserHax method I know I have access of?

Tried searching for the one I used for my o3ds but can't find it. You could ask in the noob questions thread, someone may have it there.

Browserhax does not work below 9.0.

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example

And I also have my ps3

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    ack my throat
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I need to invest in some storage totes tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tots?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Wtf
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
