Homebrew TWILight Menu ++ frequently freezes in the nds folder

Does anyone else have this problem? 1 out of every 10 times will it work, but the rest it just freezes when going into the nds folder. Everything else is working fine so I was wondering if there is a fix for this? I have a New Nintendo 3DS XL and just installed TWILight Menu ++ last week so I have the latest of everything :-)

Are the SD card of your console formatted on FAT32 with either 32kB or 64kB of cluster size?

It would be good if you check for errors or bad formatting on the SD card. Please, follow this directions.

Ok, I will try that, thank you for responding! I redid the sd card with the larger cluster size and quadruple formatted it. The first time I accessed the nds folder it worked pretty good. After a short bit, it froze again. Now everytime I try to open TWIight Menu ++, it freezes on the Now Loading screen with the bar only about 10% loaded.

I had a similar problem after updating to the latest TWILight Menu ++.
I was pretty surprised because this never happened before.

What worked for me is to download and use the Release version of NDS Bootstrap instead of Nightly.
I don't know exactly the correlation, but this solved my problems and I haven't had any afterwards.

I have gone through the TwilightMenu ++ Updater 3 times and I've always used the "Release" version. I don't know what the Nightly options are used for honestly. I have another 32GB sd card which I'll try just on the off chance my card is somehow faulty, but I doubt it.

Okay, I'm getting the same thing. Where there was no loading bar before, now its there, sometimes it locks up in it. I get black lines while scrolling, and sometimes in games. I've had one hard freeze with stuttering audio in the menu. Didn't happen before I updated to the New Years Update.

I'm on a New 2DS XL, everything was cool beans before. Not sure what the heck is going on, but, you're not the only one with issues, which, is kind of a relief in a way.

Should add that I backed up, and reformatted the card, made sure the cluster size was correct (32Kilobyte, should it be/is it better to use 64?). Ran a surface test, and did an error check, everything came out okay.

I also reformatted my card with the 32k cluster size. It is a little better , but still freezes here and there in the rom selection screen. I didn't have this much trouble using Gateway. I can see the up side to using Luma for sure, just a little disappointed this nagging issue with no resolution currently. One thing I forgot to mention and not sure it matters, but my sysnand is 9.2.0-20U. I've been hesitant to upgrade, but my understanding is it's ok to upgrade as it won't affect Luma.

Looks like that fixed it!! I've been zipping around the roms menu screens with no issues. Thank you so much! This is awesome!
