Hacking Uninstalling old IOS versions

After running the newest version of WiiSCU, I noticed that it only allows to install IOS58 and IOS61. Does that mean the previous IOS we installed manually are no longer necessary? If yes, which of them are safe to uninstall (e.g. IOS202, 222, etc)?

Actually, I was able to delete a bunch of old IOS versions successfully after reading this thread.
