Hacking Updating from 4.55 to 5.05 Gamesaves

Hey Guys,

Updating form 4.55 to 5.05, how do i export and import my Gamesaves?
I remember you had to do it from 4.05 to 4.55 or else they would be gone.

To be honest I've read of people that after a crash the system wiped all their gamesaves and fake signed pkgs, but in my experience upgrading FW doesn't harm your data.

Unless you mean using the recovery PUP. Usually there are two FW available: update and recovery FW. The recovery FW (the biggest PUP of the two) will reinitialize your PS4 and clean/wipe your HD.

All i did was update removed the blocker using the ftp then i was on 5.05.

It doesn't harm to backup your gamesaves and the gamedb, I mean, you never know if your HD my break down during update... ^__^;

P.S. to be honest I haven't tried to restore a single gamesave from backup, I'm not even sure if it works...

Exactly, barring a disaster (broken disk or blackout during update) or human error (wrong PUP) it should be a "harmless" procedure...

Updating does NOTHING to saves. get outta here with that nonsense.

system fails, and you have to reinitialize is a whole different story. but the upgrade itself is OFW to OFW and saves are untouched.

Recovery firmware are OFW. What part of "human error" you don't understand?

OK, so with the regular PS4UPDATE.PUP all Savegames worked, had me a littl eworried thoe since after updating it stated "Rebuliding Database".
But all good...
