Hardware use linksys WRT54G2 for accesing a hotspot

hi all
i just bought a linksys WRT54G2
but i cant connect to an free hot spot
i can connect to that hotspot with my iphone but i cant find the way to connect with the linksys

i must specify that i have acces at the router page 192.168.1.1
and that im on ubuntu

You can't connect the router to another hotspot with the official linksys firmware. If you want to do that, you'll need to flash a custom firmware, like dd-wrt. However, depending on the revision you have, that may not be possible, and even if it is there's a good chance you could brick your router if you do something wrong.

If you decide to flash dd-wrt, I can answer any questions you might have.
