I was torn up as to whether or not I should buy it on the PS3. Looks like I'll wait until the PC reviews come out and I see which is better.

played the psp game for a while and really liked it. but then it ended up ridiculously repetitive. also you're almost forced to replay every mission since you run in blind on the first try and you keep running into the worst classes... that annoyed me. also the class upgrade system was terrible with the random drops and stuff

Class upgrade system is completely different in VC1. There are 5 classes, each one has a class level. Level a class (using points you get from winning battles), all units of that class level up. Chances are you can't do the missions on your first try later on in the game though, shit gets pretty hard.

nah, thats pretty much the same in the psp game. i mean the one where you upgrade scout to sniper or that better scout thing. or lancer to mortarer and such. it required special items (i cant remember what it was specifically, badges or certificates or something?) that are randomly gained after a mission. and everyone can gain them, even if their class has no use whatsoever for the specific kind of thing

That doesn't even exist in VC1. There's literally only 5 classes, no subclasses or upgrades. You can buy new weapons though, but those get distributed to everyone of that class. There's a few weapon paths you can take and you can pick for each character though.

Nice, that's cheaper than I expected, even more with the sweet mexican steam prices. And I just noticed I have 199 games on steam, this seems like a pretty good choice for the 200th game, always wanted to play it.

The requirements are lower than I thought they would be, but then again, I don't know why I was expecting them to be higher. I might pick this up early, or I might see if it actually goes on sale during the winter sale, despite only coming out next week. The game with all the DLC for only $20 though is a pretty nice deal, especially if it's a good PC port.
