I've seen some users claiming that their menuhax stopped working out of the blue (I mean, without changing themes or something) on 11.0

In addition, people usually do not make backups of their SD cards, so I would advise people with menuhax on 11.0 to:

- Install a9lh as soon as possible (when you have what you need to)
- Look for an alternative entrypoint besides menuhax
- Or maybe backup this (I'm not sure if only this is enough)

(screenshot from plailect's guide, thank you)

Maybe is a false positive, but better safe than sorry

It is most likely a false positive, but just a note, if this ever happens to you, and you used browserhax as an entry point, try this to bypass the update nag:
Code:
1. Goto System Settings. Then change the datetime to January 1, 2000, 00:00.
2. Use the browser 'Initialize savedata' option, before any page gets loaded triggering the browser-version message.
3. Continue to use browserhax as normal.
Note that you must not press the HOME button to return from the browser normally, otherwise you will have to reinitialize the savedata again. Once the datetime reaches January 2, you will have to repeat these steps if you want to continue using this bypass.
It worked with me, so I don't see why it won't work with others.
And, when you do get back to the hbl, try reinstalling Menuhax.
EDIT: Anyone that is going to try this, please report back with the results.
EDIT2: This seems to be fixed in 11.0. But if this happens to you under that, try this.
EDIT3: It may work if you block conntest.nintendowifi.net and/or 69.25.139.140.

I use freakyhax for now. Menuhax using sdiconhax is problematic, since it won't allow any kind of "return to Home Menu" functionallity, which renders useful things like ctr-httpwn useless.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
