What do the 2000s and 2010s look and sound like?

I´ve just watched a movie from the 90s. The 90s, 80s and 70s all have a distinct character. Even in 2006 (when the Wii game out) I could easily identifiy a "90s movie". I was wondering how I would look back at the 00s one day. To be honest, the 2000s and 2010s still do not have a distinct character for me with regards to how they feel, look or sound. Have we reached the end of history?

I guess movie trailers have become unified (e.g. the obligatory "laugh pause").

And perhaps movies have become louder in the sense that sound effects like gun fire are extremely loud in comparison to dialogue. Not sure though.

If the creators behind James Bond are smart, they will do movies that look like the 60s again. Sort of like how e.g. 8bit is popular in gaming.
90s Bond was a 90s Bond.
2000s/2010s Bond was a mix of Bourne, Batman and whatever (with some exceptions).

But anyway, perhaps some fashionable people can tell us more about the character of the previous two decades. Maybe rehashing older decades is their only identifiable aspect.

I agree.
Every single decade prior to 2010 (to me it was at 2008) everything looked and felt different.
From 2008 up to this day, everything's been the same to me.

The emo extinction (2005 - ±2009) fucked up reality.

The 2000s were when tech and nerd culture really started to go mainstream. Windows XP, World of Warcraft, smartphones, the first good superhero movies (Iron Man), etc. The soundtrack IMO was a lot of nu-metal like Disturbed, Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, and sadly even shit like Nickelback and Limp Bizkit. There was no one unified dress style, but it was around that time when Hot Topic was pretty popular, so a fair amount of black/goth.

The 2010s did start to feel a lot more like a grab bag of everything, everybody going their own way. Streaming (music, movies, shows) started really taking over, and that certainly contributed to individualist attitudes, along with the rise of social media giants. Then we got COVID to transition us into the 2020s, which feel right now like they might go similarly to the 1920s in a number of ways. Minus the flapper attire, anyway.
