There is no difference.

Only difference is if it has a ticket that wok on OFW. legit bought stuff has a ticket that works on your console with OFW.

ciangel and freshop (with that site's data) will give you a ticket that only work on CFW.

once you have a ticket, whether it's cfw or not, you get the same files. Eshop itself doesn't validate the ticket, the firmware does that. SO a long as it's not DLC and you have a ticket, the official shop lets you redownload. Eshop will erase all non legit DLC when you go in.

Nothing different!
They all come from the same very single place, Nintendo servers!

you must convert the .3ds to .cia

This is easiest done on the 3ds itself, as then you don't need xorpads.

You need the following
1) at least twice as much space on the sdcard as needed for the game
2) a decrypter payload for a9lh. this can be chain loaded from luma. Godmode9 safemode9, and decrypt9 all work for this, i believe. Hourglass9 can't convert unless it's on a sky3ds.

So the steps are.
1) place .3ds file on sdcard.
2) chain-load your decrypter of choice from luma boot.
3) convert the .3ds to .cia
4) reboot, and enter fbi
5) delete the .3ds file inside of fbi, to free up the space
6) install and delete the .cia file

They come with shiny new 3ds and 2ds machines. you can then use godmode9 to dump them.

just wondering, will i lose those legal cia games if i update my cfw?
I heard when you have installed those legal cia files on an OFW trough HBL-> cia installer you will lose the games once u update your system.

No, you don"t lose the games, in fact if you installed a Legit CIA it should remain downloable in the eShop if you make a System Format too.

If you have CFW, you can install any cia file through FBI.

I'm not 100% sure of what you're asking, but as long as you have CFW, you can install any cia through FBI and it will appear on your home menu as any cia would.

Hi there all,

I've just finished following the soundhax homebrew guide (https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax)) and everything went fine. I've copied over the CIA file for Majorca's Mask 3D (downloaded from: https://nicoblog.org/3ds-rom/33148/) to the root of my SD card and opened up FBI on my New 3DS XL and installed it. I've gone to then load the game up and I get a "an error has occurred forcing the software to close. the system will now restart" error message.

I've not tired installing another game yet but could it be a corrupted file? Have I missed something out after completing the guide? I've followed the guide all the way up until the end.
