what is the difference between HWFLY MV1-6 vs MV1-7

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on modding my Mariko switch now that prices are becoming somewhat reasonable. Does someone know if there is a major difference between the different versions of HWFLY? hope someone can help.

MV1-6 is the sx core clone, and MV1-7 is the flashable oled chip. If you are modding your mariko v2 switch just go with the core clone. Btw MV1-6 is not flashable, if you want a flashable core the silkscreen should be MV1-7.1 (with qfpn fpga chip).

Get the flashable one. Always best to have that option.

I have heard that the flashable one has some issues with certain brand of emmc. Not sure if it is fixed.

The old hwfly core v3 is locked but didn't have any issue while I was doing mail in

If an error is found, you can update it instead of needing a new one

Also, could you guys clarify something for me? If MV1-6 can't be flashed, how is there any firmware in the first place?

Is the Mv1-7.1 compatible with a patched v1 switch or only the chips with Mv1-6?
