Unless you are a MLG Pro there's really no need for TN. VA and IPS will satisfy both of your requirements for Photoshop and Gaming.

Between IPS and VA go for what ever is cheaper. For color critical work it's usually always recommended to go IPS. But as a hobbyist you'll be fine with VA.

Shop around for a bit, read a bunch of reviews and follow sales. You might find a good deal for a really good monitor.
Both of these monitors I could find for $250 with monitor A currently on sale for $225

What monitor is it?
Monitoir A is the AOC AG273QCX; it retails for $299 online but I found someone at my work who told me he could give me his for just $225. He even had it in new condition fresh from Amazon and he even showed me the box at his apartment to prove it. God knows why the hell he is selling it this low.
He told me that I could have it for just $225 because he couldn't find anyone else who wanted it, but he also told me that if he did find a buyer then I would have to pay him $250 instead.

Monitoir B is the Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx, you can find it on Amazon for $250. I don't have any alternative sellers for this one however.

I play a lot of CSGO and TF2 but I also wanna get into more cinematic RPG type stuff later on down the line. Even with the lower refresh rate, the higher resolution and VA panel is starting to tempt me, plus it's curved.
Still though, if I go with monitor A I'll never be able to see that glorious 240hz ):
I would still go with the 1440p monitor, the difference between 144 and 240 is much smaller than the difference between 60 and 144. Combine that resolution bump with I'm assuming a larger screen size (1440p monitors are typically 27" whereas 1080p monitors tend to be smaller) and you have a better experience that will be noticeable no matter what you're doing. The bump in refresh rate will only be noticeable in certain games, or on the desktop if you're really looking for it.

seems we have CSGO player here, this video should explain a lot of things :)
p.s. both VA IPS monitors indeed has better colour accuracy than TN, anyway the difference is marginal, you will spot difference only if you put VA TN monitors one close to another and have them to run same game.

Go for monitor A. Seems decent. It won't output colors at a wider angle like an IPS but its good for general use with picture quality above monitor B.

I've personally experienced 100+ hz on a monitor not long ago, and i'm not impressed.

More pixel count are more visible to eyes, either on gaming or common usage, graphics edition, etc. so 1440p for you.

Keep in mind you have to maintain a robust machine to achieve max fps on max quality.

I just bought a 75hz freesync 1080p aoc, and I'm happy with it. Didnt see much positive cost X benefits relation on goind higher than this on my i3-8100/rx 580/8gb. 1080p/60fps for is the way to go for pc gaming. More than this, I would consider luxury.

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made

Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:

Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022

Fun fact @SylverReZ: iirc one of the goals on the fnf Kickstarter stated that pico 2 would be finished but the Kickstarter didnt get enough money for that goal to be fullfiled

Newgrounds wasn't the birth of FNF; rather, it was games where you beat up celebrities and parodies.
