Iwata Banana. It's a meme originating from a Direct where Iwata, for some reason, was staring intently at a bunch of bananas. We here at GBAtemp helped to pioneer what became a prominent meme for a short time in the video game world that involved Iwata. As such, the bananas act as the the most apropos tribute we may be capable of giving. It is both lighthearted and respectful, as we honor humor that Iwata gave us while using it as a tool of remembrance. Mourning does not have to be a purely sad occasion, and the bananas are certainly a good reminder of that.
