You can use HID-to-vpad to emulate the gamepad or you can use ftpiiu to edit the gamepad requirement at the start of a game.

there's a new-ish feature, where you can map a key so it blows into a "mic" but actually, your just pressing a key

super mario 3d world requires the gamepad for captain toad and certain stages. tropical freeze doesn't though.

Definitely playable without the gamepad but not able to 100% the game. also it's only 3 player without the GamePad. You should really check out my list Wii U Games that work WITHOUT the Wii U GamePad

So basically my charger for my gamepad broke and all I have is my pro controller. I want to still be able to game on my WII U until nintendo sends out a new one, but i'm not sure which games I should buy due to the fact they might require the gamepad, even in a minuscule fashion (such as needing it for only one small part of the game), so do you guys know any games that 100% DO NOT need the gamepad? My WII U is already set up so it has no need for the GP at least at the home screen.

Hyrule Warriors
Batman: Arkham Origins

I think it's beatable without needing the gamepad. once you get to world castle and I think world 4 castle also, you start needing green stars to progress. there's a warp pipe in that piranha plant stage in world 4 to bypass the castle. there's probably just enough green stars to beat the game without going to toad stages or the stages that need the gamepad.
