Emulation Why isn't my ROM making a .sav?

For the M3 and Pokemon Pearl, I started a Pokemon Fire Red game (Japanese of course). Using turbo, I beat the entire RPG mode within an hour or two and I go to save. The game saves fine, and I was ready to transfer my save to the M3.

Problem: For some reason this Fire Red didn't make a .sav. The english one I had did, so why didn't this one? And how do I make it so it does? I'm playing this Fire Red on VBA by the way.

You actually have to save using the games ingame feature before a save pops up.
