ROM Hack Why isn't the 3DS reading my SD card formatted with Minitool Partition Wizard Pro?

I've since formatted with other software... but it's really bothering me. I'm formatting my SD Card to Fat 32 with 64k cluster size-- tried two different cards on two different 3DS's.... both times they weren't recognized. Any input why? Just for curiosities sake.

I've found that it's usually down to one or both of these things:

- The drive is partitioned as GPT instead of the proper MBR. You can use Partition Wizard to convert from one to the other.

- The partition alignment is wrong. Some systems (and definitely the 3DS) are really picky about free space before the actual partition. I always use guiformat.exe for 3DS SD cards and it's never failed me.

You should probably also test your cards with h2testw if you haven't already.
