Wad2ISO is no longer actively developed since there are several alternatives now available to acheive the same end.
The program worked flawlessly for me (back in the day when I was using the Wii) and will still work for you, if you put in
the effort to read through this thread to find the answer to any particular issue you may be having.

The answers are all here, don't waste your time crying that 'it just don't work', read. Enjoy!

Holy old thread resurrection! Can't say enough thanks for this app back then when it was cool. appreciate it!

I've never used any of my wiiware or VC files and want to start.

Seeing this was discontinued and replaced, what's the best way to run them off an external USB drive??

I tried to do this, and I couldn't get it to work, I think it was just the formatting part that was screwing up. If someone could tell me a hard drive that's around 300gb and definitely works that would be great. I really want to have my virtual console games in my usb loader, so I don't have to use priiloader to get to them and so I can open it through an awesome cover art :P

This method is now somewhat obsolete. Use an emulated NAND dump and a new loader like Wiiflow or USB Loader GX. Wiiflow can load through Neek2o as well which means almost perfect compatibility.

Oh, could you link me to a tutorial? It would be a lot easier to follow a step by step guide, and I am also looking for a place where I can get PAL wad's. I know you can convert the wad's to a different region but I keep getting terrible speed in VC games or just slow sound. Thanks for the help.

Check that you have the folder called NandGames (and the Loader.dol file within) in the root of either SD or USB.

Sorry, I can't understand very well your English. Whatever, try loading the ISO Forwarder with cIOS 222 (Hermes). You can also try to have the Nandgames folder in both USB AND SD at the same time. I don't know if it's a Wad2ISO bug, but if I do not have it also on a SD card, Wad2ISO doesn't find the Loader.dol file, even if it is already in the USB drive.

I don't know if it has to do with your problem, but one thing I forgot to mention is that you must make sure you have disabled the "block IOS reload" option in your loader to load the ISO Forwarder. On Wiiflow I think is a bit difficult to do as you must manually edit a settings file. I don't know for UBS Loader GX. I use Configurable USB Loader to run the ISO Forwarders created with wad2ISO, as it has this option available in its GUI.

Slow loading is normal (is the price to pay).
Wad2Iso uses Triiforce to load a VC/Wiiware channel. And TriiForce needs completely untouched VC/WiiWare to work properly.
When you generate a Wad2ISO's iso I would suggest you select firstly "change settings from DEFAULTS" and then select to force Video Mode to PAL and, if necessary, activate a Video Patch option.
And for problematic Virtual Console titles I also would suggest you use cIOS 199 in wad2ISO settings. You must have installed on IOS slot 199 of the console the cIOS Waninkoko v17[38] (for that, download cIOS249-v17b.wad from ModMii, change its IOS slot to 199 with ShowMiiWads, and then install it with your favorite wad manager).
