You should try the method and let me know how it goes. My hangup is that I'm getting conflicting reports about pins, as in 1&10, 7&10, 7&9, etc,.

9 won't always work since apparently pin 9 isn't necessarily grounded at all times, pin 7 and 1 work but 1 is recommended since it's much easier to avoid touching other pins by accident if you use 1 and 10 compared to 7 and 10.

Check out the one I made, I used a Kemps ice cream pail handle a small piece of solder and a little hot glue, I shaved down the handle with sand paper until it fit in the rail, then marked the tip and carefully shaved away the tip until it was the correct thickness then glued the piece of solder in and shaved the solder down with a file
