Well... I think by google-ing you would definitely find the answer but I suggest you use Nero Burning Rom to burn.
Which settings ? I dunno. I'm not that good at burning ISO stuff anyway

Which discs are the best for PS2?

I tried some old Riteks because everyone and their moogle said they were the best for PS2, but they don't work on my PS2. :/

Really no such thing as the "best". What works for one PS2 wont always work for another. This can be true even for same model numbers. I would say what is "best" is whatever works for your system and is in your price range. DVD-R tends to generally be more compatible than DVD+R when it comes to the PS2 but sometimes DVD+R works just fine.

I personally just use common store brand discs for my PS2. You know the ones that are always on sale for a pack of 100 every week. Most of the time those end up being mid range discs on most "quality" media lists.

True. But there are certain brands that usually work for most people.

Almost everyone was liking Ritek for a long time.
A "which CD is best" topic would get mostly Ritek answers.

But that was a while ago and I don't know what the new brand everyone is using, unless it's still Ritek.

When you open an iso with nero burning rom, whether ps2, xbox or otherwise, it should auto load the correct settings for that iso. I just open with nero then click burn, works everytime for ps2 and xbox, 360 needs clonecd.

If you think your problems are due to disc brand:

Meritline or Supermediastore or somebody used to sell sample packs of discs. If nothing else, I'm sure they still sell 2-packs. Get a bunch of diff brands for as cheap as you can and burn the same thing on all of them. PS2 drives are picky beasts, but once you get a DVD-R brand that works, it usually keeps working unless the brand decides to switch disc manufacturer. Riteks work great on mine btw.

Just a thought.

Strangely enough, some Riteks I bought from meritline a long time ago didn't work.

And even stranger is some Sony discs I got that were 8 speed didn't work recently, but the same discs - just 4 speed - that I got a couple of years ago worked without problems.
