Hacking Xbox 360 E hackable?

been looking around for about an hour and half and couldn't figure it out.

Ideally, I want to play backups offline for free. running a very old version (2.0.17150.0)

anyone more knowledgeable people know if there's a way without purchasing a mod chip?

if not, any way to do it WITH one?

Whats the date on the back? If its a winchester board its not rgh able or flash able. They started appearing late 2013 early 2014.

just remembered I still have my phat 360. only problem is the disc reader kinda sucks. is there a free method with that?

Also no "free" method.

You can argue that flashing the DVD drive is free but it still requires you to have a compatible SATA chipset.
If the DVD drive is iffy and doesn't read discs anymore, you could tweak the laser POT.

If I where you, I'd invest in an Xkey.
They're ~80 quid and allow backups to be played from an external source.

Xkey, nope.

Redesigned E slims usually come with the Winchester board.

Your best bet would be to obtain a glossy Slim that's made in early 2011.
You can dump the DVD keys from the drive and copy them to the Xkey.
Aside from spending 80 quid on an Xkey and having access to the correct SATA chipset (Jungleflasher can be used to dump the keys and comes with a detailed manual on how to do so), it really is the easiest way to do so.

The Phat you have can also have its keys dumped without to much of a hassle.
Depending on the drive.

Just did a few RGH september 2013 date - Both were Corona.
