So i am not that good when it comes with the x360 but i do want to mod it rgh or jtag would do fine and so i came here since i know a lot of people are probably gonna know this
My x360:
Corona v1
dash 2.0.17526.0
no soft or hard mods done, quite new
probably has a faulty laser since 1/6 of the times it doesn't want to read my disks
does anyone know a good way to mod it i have fairly good soldering skills and equipment, so i just want to know what is the essentials to buy to mod it.
if you are wondering why its because i want to make it run emulators

question 1. does the console have to be powered on like on the character select screen and if so after i use the program to write the thing to the console do i just restart and boom its applied.
2. after writing to the console do i have to leave the chip installed in the console or take it out

In order to mod the console is it sufficient to just solder the chip onto the motherboard?
or do i need to program it

Edit:
luckily i found a fairly noob friendly on how to do this but i wont post the link since it might count as advertising and don't feel like getting a ban or warn

You need to dump the NAND and solder in the chip.
Then write a EEC file back to obtain your CPU keys to create a hacked NAND.

That's basically the gist of it.
JRunner will help you go through it with ease.

Yes, after you've dumped the NAND, you'll need to create an ECC file and write that back.
By booting the 360 and the chip soldered properly, it'll display your fusesets and CPU key.
Write it down to create a hacked NAND which can be written back to the console again.

After that, you can pop in a XeXMenu disc or extract it all to a flash drive.
Load it up and install FSD.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
