Is there anyway to mod Xenoblade 2 to render in a bigger resolution on portable mode? Like on os vita where you can modify the resolution of some games, like borderlands 2. The game looks great docked, but undocked is just awful.

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

AFAIK it renders on dynamic resolution depending on load.
I.e. it will render on higher resolution if you find how to overclock the console. Sure there is a way. I mean, I'm not into hacking this time around so I haven't looked at tools and things, but probably there is something lying around to OC the console already?

PS: And yes, it looks like shit on portable mode.

Thanks! I will look into it.

I'd you are talking about battery performance then yes.

But for some games that need just a bit more power it's absolutely worth it. Like many vita games gor example

wouldn't overclocking backfire at performance? honestly, it's not worth it
What i mainly would want to do isn't overclocking but increasing resolution on portable mode, as i don't mind losing performance on a jrpg such as Xenoblade. And as sarkwalvein said overclocking would be a possible way to force the game to increase resolution, but i didn't find any reliable and steady way to overclock the switch on portable mode.

Yes that's what i was thinkig, sometimes i just prefer to play on portable mode connected to a wall outlet with a gooseneck, so the battery would be a problem in this situation.

Have you updated the game recently? Portable mode is a lot better now.
I was playing it on version 1.5.1 i think, but for me it looked worse than vita games. I just played 1 hour of the game, so just the starting area, does the rest of the games looks better?

Are there any overclocking tools to test this with? I have a modded switch just not sure if the community has gotten these kinds of tools out there yet.

obviously you'd need to "mod"/use cfw to enable something like this (and risk a paddlingban for not running it how nintendo declared it had to be run...)

I ran ReiNX on 5.1.0-6.0.1 with airplane mode always on and accounts unlinked for about 1 or 2 months. Then I went back to OFW and it has been like 3-4 months and no ban at all. So if i do the same thing is unlikely I get banned, no?

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
