So I’ve been thinking about leaving the SXOS scene and going clean on official firmware. Buy the games I want and play online when ever I want without any worries of being banned.

I created a thread not so long back about how to go about this without having to buy a new switch and the responses I got were basically you need to restore to a clean NAND (which I don’t have).

So my question is. If I completely reset my switch back to factory settings, format my SD card and delete any saved game remains off my switch and then just start using it as official firmware and using online etc is it still going to get banned? Have others done this and been banned? I’ve only seen people saying it’s a huge risk and you will get banned etc. Not seen anyone say “I got banned doing this”.

Yes you will be at a high risk. You should have backed up your NAND.

Frickin' noobs...

You can follow this guide to try to create a clean NAND, but it might not work, and there's a good chance you will be banned regardless without a clean NAND backup.

Is there a way to see if you have a clean Nand? I do have a backup from a long time ago. Not sure if it is clean though?

Also thanks for the guide but at which point does it explain how to create a clean NAND?

What did you do on SXOS?
For me, I used SXOS before emuNAND and I played XCI offline, used homebrew offline, played installed nsps offline. I formatted and started using emuNAND for all my homebrew etc. and my console is not banned.

I would look at it this way. If you go online you have the possibility of getting banned BUT you also have the possibility of not being banned. If you DONT go online then sure you won't be banned but you're effectively banning yourself anyway.

Basically the same as you however I’ve not used emunand. My switch has never been online. I’ve used it to play ..XCI, occasionally installed NSPs and think I used RetroArch once. I’m on the latest firmware by using ChoiDuJoix.

I’ve assessed it all and yes I have downloaded and played many games I think I just did it out of habit. I’d be quite happy to buy the games I want.

Given what you've done, you will probably be banned if you connect to the internet. You can follow the guide in my previous post to potentially clean your NAND, but there's a good chance it won't work.

Without a clean NAND, you don't have any other options.

You'll probably be banned eventually. I'm in the same boat as you, my NAND backup was corrupted so I had to essentially just format my system and remove all my AutoRCM stuff and hidden save data in my NAND. I've been using stock for over a month now though and have been fine, but people say the flagging can take months before you're banned.

When you decided to use CFW, you either knew or should have done the research to know you're at risk for a ban. Now you want to change your mind. No one can tell you 100% for sure you will or won't get banned, but you are at risk. Your choices are don't go online at all, go online and risk getting banned or use that Switch as CFW and buy another one to go online. Those are your only choices.

Mount the emmc in hacdiskmount.

For 100% clean emmc...

Mount SYSTEM, bis key 2.
You will have:

Contents
save
saveMeta (maybe)

1) Delete saveMeta folder if it exists.
2) Go in to save, delete everything apart from 8000000000000120 - you will want to complete initial setup when booted!
3) Go into Contents/placehld. Delete anything that may be in here (probably empty)
4) Go to SD card, delete Nintendo folder. It is now useless.

Unmount, boot. Done.

i did this and still no ban since friday.
I used my switch with sx os, atmosphere, nsp and xci installed, also used incognito.

Used xci and nsp offline on sysnand before switching to emunand when it was released. Didn’t reset the system and just removed all installed nsps and saves I made while using them through the system menu and I’m still good. Maybe not for ever but it’s been close to a year now since I first used cfw.

I only played xci’s offline and updaten the games the official way in horizon (never installed any nsp’s), in the meanwhile I always played online in horizon. 3 months ago i decided to make a emunand because i wanted to install some nsp’s. I didn’t want to restore a clean nand because I was always online in horizon and the telemetry wouldn’t add up, so i just did a factory reset. Still not banned.

But I see it like this i knew the risk and I wanted to take it so if I get banned someday than it is a good excuse to buy the switch pro when it comes.
