11/18/11 - Ferns and Fairies and Rain, OH YEAH!

Origin Forest during a sunny day

So today, I've just been working on more aesthetic stuff. I added ferns that basically render like tall grass (Randomly and "wildly"), and are just for show. I've also added small fairies (Or "Lightflies" as I've sort of named them) that fly around the forest. The actual setting of the game is in a forest for the most part, but there will be other environments as well, and they'll all have some kind of fantasy bit added to them. The forest will have the little fairies, as well as some other cool things I don't want to spoil.

I also improved the rain/weather in general. Whenever the weather changes, it will transition into the new type of weather smoothly, rather than just abruptly switching to it. Also added another type of weather condition called "Stormy." Can you guess what it does? :P It darkens the screen a bit, and will create lightning strikes sometimes (I have yet to make the actual strikes, but they WILL touch down to the ground, and strike objects).

I've also been planning ideas for the game, such as plant life cycles (Plants die, grow back, etc.), and working out how I'm going to have animals and other creatures work in relation to other creatures, and the world. I want the game to have a lot of dynamic-ness to it, so that the replay value is increase, and of course, for a more awesome game experience.
