astrangeone's bento counter - placement craziness

Way too much to do this week. It's a ton of meeting up with both of my placements and trying to get the orientation done. One of them is at a nursing home and the other is at a place for at risk youth. Both of them require 100 hours of work to be inputted. Way too much stuff to get done. :D Maybe I'd put in two days a week for each placement...

I also bought more bento goodies. Some of them are silicone dividers, silicone baking cups (in cute shapes), more picks and some speciality cutters. I should not be on ebay for a reason!

Also, just got accepted as a notetaker for two of my courses. It's $50 for each term, which means (50 X 2) X 2 = $200 at the end of the year. It also means I have to look at my course notes again for each course!

Bento 1: Flavours of Fall Lunch

Recognize any thing? This was made using an official Nintendo "breadcraft" cookie cutter and imprinter. It came with a ton of stuff - three picks, three cutters and the imprints and one pokeball cutter and imprint. I basically filled this up with spinach, the last of the zucchini, eggy rice with soy sauce in it, apples and some cherry tomatoes. There is some chicken too.

Also, the box was a little short, and I had to squeeze Pikachu's feet a little bit to get everything to fit into the box!

Bento 2: Star Wars PBJ Lunch

Made with my new Star Wars cutters. The jam is homemade - two plums, honey, mead and water - boil until the consistency coats a spoon. Everything else is me trying to use up the rest of the food in the house. Also, I use tiny slices of bread - this equals one sandwich, but I ended up using four slices to achieve this effect!

Bento 3: Placement Dinner Bento

Salad with spinach, tomato, cucumber, american cheese, egg and salad dressing. The dressing is made out of homemade maple mead, vinegar, and some extra virgin olive oil. This is for placement, so I hope that I have enough food to last me the night. :D

What is that yellow thing in pictures 2 and 3? Makes me think of the containers from Kinder Surprise haha

Kinder egg's as containers?...
I'm definitely going to steal that idea now!

Speaking of Pokeballs and shaped eggs, is there a Pokeball-shaped egg mould? That would be neat.

Yep, they are definately Kinder eggs as containers. Cheap, and cheerful...and they once had chocolate in them!

Well, around them, the plastic containers had toys inside haha.
Great inspiration, keep up the good work!

wow.... it is really called "kindersurprise" in the US ? That is surprising !

Those bentos lack color... except for the veggies and the "kindersurprises". Ha...! My new fav english word xD

However... did they at least taste good ?

Yep, they do lack colour - I just don't use many colourful items.

They taste pretty good, although I did pack a lot of food. :D
