My school blocking access to the 'Temp.

I'm usually on my school's network, and I didn't expect them to block GBAtemp.net in lieu of anything else. I keep getting the registration page when I go here without a proxy. That is all very strange - there's nothing illegal about the 'Temp, so why this is happening now is weird.

I could access the 'Temp before...on my uni's network.

Fucking jackasses.

Same thing at my school, although it's more of "OH LAWDY IT SAYS GAME ON ONE OF THE PAGES BETTER BLOCK IT" type deals than legality. Fucking schools man.

I find it funny because it just happened, and they don't block anything else objectionable! (Like porn, for pete's sake.)

Apparently, I live in a uni who thinks I'm in idiot.

Try to access it with IP adress instead of domain name, sometimes they just block the "gbatemp.net" and not the IP, if you don't know how just press CTRL + R, type "cmd" press enter then type "ping gbatemp.net" it will show 4 lines like:
Reply from x.x.x.x: bytes=x time=xms TTL=x
where x.x.x.x is the IP adress, after that the best way to access it is a web proxy or a better way but harder to do, SSH tunneling from your home.

That's the way my school used to block sites, so I'd always either use the ip or just add https instead of http. Used to work till they realized how I was getting past the filters.

Hey, atleast your schools system inst ran by idiots who will block EVERY FUCKING GAMESITE for just having the word "Game" in it (Seriously, I was looking up on AMAZON for a Mario cap and it just blocked all the shit) but doesnt give enough of a shit to try and block GuroChan or 4Chan.

My school is rather retarded when it comes to tech in general. We constantly keep switching internet filters. But their mostly all the same and block pages based on key words. The 'Temp is blocked for "Gaming" since we use the words "games", "gaming", "video games", etc.

While I usually don't use the school computers outside of work, it's annoying in Photoshop class when I have to find an image but can't access it because of the blocker. Like I may want an image of Half Life 2 to Photoshop but most of them are blocked since the word "game" is probably used a lot on sites that host images of Half Life 2.

we used to get our sites blocked... but the proxy got hacked so much that they decided it would be easier to just turn it off.

epic win :D

My school used to block Youtube until they made the rule of EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS ONLY.
The reason they dont want random youtube vids is because of bandwidth,

Google translate work to you know just let the block shut up :P On my school though.
