Finished yet another short anime series ~sigh~

Wow. Again this morning I downloaded the AVI for the Black Rock Shooter TV series, converted it to MP4 and put it on my PSP and sat there for 24 minutes watching the last episode (episode 8) and after it I finished it and the ending was actually pretty good a bit strange but I liked it but I just thought that this is just bullshit that such a good series ended so quickly and even though it had no fillers which was the best bit of it but only having 8 episodes seems a bit of a rip off not because I didn't enjoy it but it just ended so quickly and no matter how enjoyable it was you kinda felt like you want it to continue but you know it won't.

This happened the last time I watched an anime series and it actually made me not wanting to bother with it anymore and as much as I like watching whenever you know that it only has a small number of episodes you kinda get the feeling it'll be a fun ride but you'll be disappointed that it won't continue. I want to continue watching the Persona 4 anime but somehow I can't get into that at the moment but I might as well try to watch the BRS OVA without skipping parts of it, somehow the drama bits kinda makes me want to skip it but the fights are so awesome.

Lol I need to get back into that. So far I seen the main series and Endless Eight I think I still got a movie a few others to go.

My personal experience:
-very small number of episodes: Often feels more like a movie than a story with multiple episodes. Can be great nonetheless of course. With a good story, will keep you wanting for more.
-12-16 episodes: A great anime, no time for fillers, fast-paced story. Afterwards you will(if it was a good anime) want more. Animeseries that have multiple seasons with each season having this amount of episodes often are great.
-22-26 episodes: A great anime, a little time for fillers, but also for more backstory. This gives everything the time to become full-fledged and often is fun. Afterwards it feels more 'finished' than the 12-16 epi. ones. It takes considerably more time to watch, tough.
-more episodes: Tends to become boring, in that there are many fillers/unimportant moments. Story often becomes 'slow'.
-animeseries that go on indefinitely. (like bleach, pokemon, one piece etc.) Personally, I don't like them. That's just my personal taste, but I prefer stories that actually have an end, because with those ongoing animes I always have a feeling that the story isn't really going anywhere.

I don't disagree but sometimes the really short ones just feel like its missing something when it ends and sometimes the 24 episode ones have the same feeling but that usually depends on if you enjoyed it or not, I mean I wanted Tower of Druaga to continue even if they can't while ones like Tiger and Bunny I found the ending good enough. I wanted a 3rd series to Weib Survive since its ending just leaves you hanging >_>

I don't follow the anime that just goes on and on and on either, it gets so boring after a while that you just give up watching.

Ha ha... the endless eight episodes were brilliant. XD I never had such emotion when Kyon was like "Fuuu... what should I tell her?! She's about to leave!" I was like "Argh! Homework, man... homework!"

Have you seen "Another"? Creepy goodness!

And wow... it ends in eight episodes, huh? It was a pretty awesome anime, too... XD

It was brutal to the viewer.

i agree with what redjiggly said.
though i don't watch that much anime.

about the brs ending, i'm actually satisfied with it. i do wish there was more but all characters were happy in the end so i can't think of it continuing without new characters.
i was also surprised that it only lasted for 8 episodes.

Finished Another, so I moved on to BRS this morning. Just finished it now.
Pretty fantastic little anime. I'm sad it was so short though. I dunno what people have against "filler" episodes though. It's not "filler" it's "getting to know the characters better". Unless you're talking about some shit 3 million episode anime like Bleach or Naruto.

I prefer 20~26 episode animes since it gives plenty of time to flesh out everything, usually.

But I do enjoy 12 episode animes since I can usually watch them in one sitting (probably why i've watched Angel Beats 8 times). I tend to rewatch shorter animes more, Clannad being the only exception so far.

Have you tried the Fate/Stay series? They define epic. :3
Especially Fate/Stay - Zero which is currently on-going, you should catch up to it. :x

Takes approx 5 hours. Which is pretty much no time at all on a day off. Though I tend to get the urge to watch an anime through at like midnight...>_>

Now watching Clannad about 8 times and After Story about 5...that takes a while.

Hate to be picky but it's the Fate/ series. Stay Night is one title, Zero is another.
Also if you like the anime you should check out the VN for Stay Night.

I didn't particularly love /Stay Night. /Zero is bloody awesome though.

HOLD IT RIGHT FUCKING THERE
You DO NOT watch the anime for Fate/Stay Night, its terrible compared to the VN D:
As a Type Moon fanboy, if you are at all interested in the Fate series, you should read the VN, the anime and movie are horrendous.
However, the Fate/Zero anime adaption of the light novels is just fine, the quality is great, watch it after reading /Stay Night however, since it spoils quite a few things in it, plus its a lot better experience watching Zero after reading Stay Night~
I also suggest giving the original Fate/Zero light novels a look to, since some stuff is cut out, nothing too major IIRC.

Other than that, on the topic:
Attempted watching BRS, I dunno why but I couldn't get into it. Something about it just didn't click with me >>;
Also, have you watched Durarara and Baccano? Both are great animations, give em a try sometime~

wow, i can't even sit down and watch after story...

and watching angel beats the second time alone, i would just skim and eventually watch something else. if i'll be watching something i watched before, i need someone else to watch it with.

Wat. How can you NOT watch After Story. It's one of the highest rated animes of all time for a reason.
The only reason I have trouble watching it is because it's so damn depressing, and knowing what's going to happen tends to make me stop after Tomoya graduates.
