ITunes; and why it can go fuck itself.

So, I own an apple device (specifically IPod 5) and it can be a pain in the ass to get music on that thing. I wanted to get a album on my Ipod that I only listen to on my android device because I never had the time to mess with ITunes. I had always used a program of the name SyncIOS for all my IOS device management needs. It didn't feel like working and I was strapped for time. I bit the bullet and opened Itunes like opening a attic that hasn't been used in eons. It loaded up and recognized my device.

Here comes the funny part. I went to my device, added my music to the library, clicked apply, pressed sync, and it did its thing. I notice something though, something off. The space usage bar dropped, a lot. I had 3GB worth of music on my ipod (I love music). I went to check my music, and what do you think I see? I see the amazing message "Connect to ITunes or go to Itunes store to get some music". I'm panicking at that moment because I didn't even have 1/3rds of that music backuped. Now, Itunes has deleted my music 3 other fucking times. On 8.1, 9 beta, and 9.2. Why I trusted this thing is beyond me.

Now I am sitting here trying to gain back what I have lost. Even though I don't wholeheartedly like Android, I will give it this.

It doesn't have to rely on a piece of shit software that gets slower every update and doesn't even make a good music player.

iTunes has this backward thing where if you don't have everything on the device backed up into your iTunes library, it mass deletes stuff. Say goodbye to your apps, music, etc, if you don't go to options and "transfer purchases to this computer". I've had it happen to me so many times, and it's always heartbreaking. Lesson is, always keep your music somewhere on your computer, just in case.

iTunes freezes upon launch when I have my iPhone plugged in, and everything else doesn't work at all for syncing music. My phone is fucked up.

I will admit, though. iTunes isn't that bad for BUYING music.
Oh, and I've heard that if you Jailbreak your iDevice, you can do something to it that will let you just put music on it by dragging and dropping when you have it plugged in. No weird syncing shit needed.

a 20$ rooted burner Android with a 32-128 gig SD is a million times better than an apple for music, you can run viper4android audio processing etc.

This is why you use appcake and linktunes like me. I feel you bro. Or you can use Spotify. Never had a bad experience with that.

Yes, because not being able to listen to your music on the go when you run out of data or if you simply don't have data is pretty great.

@Tomato Hentai If you pay for Spotify you can use music offline. Stop acting like an idiot, you already knew that. If you don't feel like paying for music screw yourself. Whenever I leave a jailbreak I buy Spotify. Piracy is great, but if you don't pay for any software/music ever then you are corrupted. Not saying you pirate just in general.

I don't want to pay for SPOTIFY, and no I didn't already know that.
I prefer to actually own my music instead of paying for a streaming service.

@Tomato Hentai Then don't make claims on stuff you don't know about. I hate iTunes they basically copied Spotify. Spotify had the system of pay monthly get music and when Apple realized they were failing they stole Spotify's idea. I hate Apple's products unless they are hacked.

I don't even know where to start on how stupid "don't say stuff you don't know about" is. If I didn't know that paying for Spotify let you listen to music on the go, then how would I know not to say that? It just doesn't make sense.

I said "don't make claims", not "don't say stuff". I edited the text when I realized it was confusing. Before you told me. Also its common sense not too say "facts" about things you haven't researched into. Also if you are gonna say, "What claims did I make?". You didn't necessarily claim anything although from your text you stated a "fact" that wasn't true. Also Apple Music is a streaming service too.

I like spotify, but I don't always have access to wifi/data. I used to pay for spotify but I just like having a permanent way to get my music. I don't like all my music being deleted when I don't pay. It's like physical media over downloadable content. I would rather have the .mp3 file over some streamable file. Also, @Zero72463 your not making a point here. What did @Tomato Hentai "not know about"? You were talking about streaming, not downloadable music.

Am I the only person who never has a problem with iTunes? I've been sticking with 10.7 for, i dont know how long, to manage my music both on and off my 160gb ipod.

Maybe it's because i don't let it sync and add music manually, I don't know. What I do know is that I have been using itunes to manage 33,000 850gb of music, hell while typing this I just added 3 more lossless albums to my iTunes collection. The only problem i have is how much the UI changed between itunes 10 and 12
