I've been thinkng lately, wouldn't it be great to have a little extra something in our lives, besides problems?

INTRODUCING: 3DS Death Throes.....too edgy? So edgy, it gets the point across.

.....or something.

Who knows what the prizes could be, but I think this would be a good idea in general.


How do you feel? Would/will you participate?

There is interest in this idea, so I'll continue outlining.
Most of these games have a format and by keeping everything simple, no one can accuse anyone of silly things; this is supposed to be an alleviation of problems to enjoy games with community members.
By this I mean:
Mario Kart 7 - we make a group, 150cc, only mushrooms and you play against other members.

Tekken (there may need to be others or this might have to be changed to a more popular game or left for overflows.)

Pokémon S/M - Doubles on wednesday with VGC Double (flat) rules applied. Singles on Thursday with VGC singles rules applied. I feel the beginning should be no more than three time zones in difference, i.e. EST vs. PST (randomly matched) until there's a winnowing (point-based, possibly) and then work out what works best, unless you don't care what time you play a match, in which case, what ever happens, happens on Wednesday/Thursday.

Smash Bros. - I think there is a tournament set for up to eight-players, but I do not know if you can send invites.

Strret Fighter IV - I believe the same may apply for Tekken. May need more entrants or may become overflow.

Free vote - Just like it implies.

I would definitely participate in Pokemon battles and Mario kart (if it's 7 that is, it's the only one I own with online still playable)

Pokemon is the only good game to play online since the others could have very bad connection issues. WHat will yoi do about people wanting to join but have bad connections? :creep:

@Gyrobax Probably just MK7, but maybe CTGP, if enough people wanted. I think Sun/Moon would be the go-to Pokémon game.

@Sonic Angel Knight I gues we'll have to work as a community to address issues. I've played online with 50 kb/s without problems, so maybe that could be used as an indication for 'can I run this?' Unless you were implying something else, but to that I say, 'take your loss as a lesson.'


To both of you, I'm forming a doubles tournament with @'breaktemp and it's going slowly while I generate interest, but it's still needs to be somewhat organized. But it can happen sooner than later. I'd like to get it started next week.

except most of those games are 3ds only, and the temp isnt just a 3ds community

An interesting idea, for sure. Probably keep it simple initially though. If you try to branch out and have too many things going at once, it'll be really difficult to keep up with. Not to mention there should probably be a cycling rotation of different consoles besides the wii u and 3ds in order to give everyone a chance to play something.

I guess there could be other systems, but let's be honest--most/a good amount of the temp posts are 3ds-related. Most of the other systems let you organize/find matches fairly easily. On top of that, I think with PS4 giving that DL-play option, X1 being X1 and Wii U dying soon, 3ds is a good choice as a lot of users have at least one 3/2ds.

Very cool; We should wait for Thursday at the earliest to give people an idea of what's going on, time to organize, and finalize.

Agreed. I'll probably just keep track of 3ds, or I might not have time to figure everything out. As for a cycling of systems, I like the idea, but I feel there might be far fewer entrants for each game. On top of that, I feel that between the hours of a day (time zones included) at least a half-hour of gaming could be arranged, especially if the entrants know beforehand.
