My views on Overwatch

Overwatch free weekend... I decided to play it with my friend who already bought Overwatch like somewhere around 2016/2017.

To make this clear: my main pc has 4GB of RAM.

It was fun, needless to say kinda repetitive. The amount of competitive maps is smaller than TF2's for example.
The amount of deathmatch maps is also pretty small... It seems to repeat after some time, even in quick play.
While I was playing with my friend, it was not this noticeable but If i tried to play alone, it was pretty boring after one hour or so.

What character I liked the most during this "test play" of mine? Mercy and Genji. Genji works more like a flank and Mercy works like a TF2 medic, oh and McCree even though my aim is completely shit.
I played Overwatch at my friend's house so i got used to mechanics.

Believe me or not, his cousin has 264lvl and yet I, as level 4, rekt him 7 times with my friend. Oh boy, the power of teamwork. [hint hint: doesn't exist on quick play since everyone either goes DMG or hanzo /shrug]

Did that free weekend make me want to buy this game? Yeah, but not at this state. As fun as this game is, it lacks maps and simply, more character reworks. This game got out of beta way too fast and it looks like they rushed for no reason. [Features useless nerfs, yay!]
Also, the game doesn't explain the price tag. As gorgeous as this game looks, there's no way i'll spend +$40. [$60 without sales]

The other issue I experienced is the JESUS CHRIST HIGH AS F-memory usage. This game was first to cap 2GB of my RAM memory and then it just began to increase and what does it bring is that my GPU would completely lose focus and just crash Overwatch. This was fixed by enabling that option related to buffering but still, jesus christ...

Currently, I would give this game a strong 6.2/10. As promising as it looks, it simply lacks the most stuff.
Now, if you'll excuse me, i'll go play as medic in TF2. See ya in the next blog post!
[Oh and also, last chapter of Win10 guide will be out tomorrow. I'm in middle of writing it so uh, yeah.]

Overwatch is one of best team co-op fps ever created with long term devs' support and it became in short time, one of biggest/most popular ESPORT in the world. TC had barely scratched the surface and dare to judge this game with RIDICULOUS, YOU 6/10 REALLY PISS ME OFF.
The true overwatch experience starts after lv25 when you are allowed to join competitive matches, where an ideal team composition usually built around 2dps(damage per second), 2 tanks and 2 healers, the motto here is ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE! Which means teamwork is extremely important, grab your microphone and start to comunicate with your team members. You will feel ur blood burning when you combine zarya's graviton with hanzos dragon, 76's visor+sombra's ENP or nanoblade, the maps may are small but fun is HUGE.

I got my copy of OW when there was Chinese's lunar new year sales and I paid only 17 euro, beside there are ton of sites who sell keys at lower price, try to look them on Google. Even my 5yo notebook can handle overwatch at 40-45fps at lowest graphic settings, of course I've a gaming pc I7 6700k and 1070 8gb gtx with proper mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse and I'll probably get 244hz gsync technology monitor if I'm able to make myself to Diamond rank.

You can't really talk about bad performance on such a low end PC. I respect your opinion on gameplay.. But it's like bashing the performance of Doom on the SNES.

Also, these mainstream games (of all types) have such a cancerous community.

@Memoir
I'm not really complaining about the performance but other games are more resource heavy and works way better than Overwatch does.

Obviously not if Overwatch is what cripples your system. JS

What other games? Please don't abbreviate as I'm retarded today.

@Memoir
Well, Rocket League, TF2, Paladins and even Tera works fine.

In comparison those are all lightweight and rather well optimized games.

TBH, 2GB ram system, you still try to run anything other than a browser\word processor :C

F
@Memoir
Yeah. I wish Overwatch was more optimized though, currently it feels choppy at times.

@leon315 ikr? Idk what screams more teamwork than people in voice being like " Fuck you Mercy main", "Why are you named Cupcake and you're a dude", "Your voice sounds gay i hope you die in a hole"
"Wow, the mercy main's trying to teach me how to play the game ughhh" " >angry french screeching< "
Ohh and 2-2-2 is not an "ideal" team composition. A more ideal team composition is having people who know how to play any of the 25 characters good. Its pretty fine to go 3 tanks, 1 DPS, 2 supports or even 5 supports 1 DPS, you would be surprised how competitive actually works. Ohh and LV 25 and going competitive, don't do it just for your own sake. The toxicity for being new to the game is crazy (even i'm annoyed sometimes when i see a low LV player and playing like a potato in my game). Go competitive once you learn how to play the game "correctly", look at some videos online, set your sensitivity right, don't use Vsync for love of the god and try being as positive and patient as possible cause the game is gonna suck out your soul and make you toxic as fuck sometimes. The Competitive ranking system is broken as fuck, the game is full of trolls and toxic behavior. Then there's streamers who think they are funny and going competitive for the lolz playing Mercy as a DPS annd ruining the game.

As for the game, its a fast fun experience which i personally prefer in a game. The content is getting updated monthly and even if it doesn't have hundreds of maps like TF2 has, the content it has is highly optimized for what the game is trying to do. So good game, shit community. Would i recommend people to buy it? Yes. Would i recommend them to play it? Well, not yet competitive, wait for the report system to update cause you'll lose a lot of nerves with the game mode. Play with friends and optimize your sensitivity and learn the maps and stuff in QP.

Ohh and OP, 2 GB RAM? Damn, you need a new PC. Playing on 1080p and it sucks 5GB of RAM. Recommend minimum 8 GB of RAM. Played on 4 before and had stuttering issues, dunno how you're playing with 2.

How is that low? ;o;

I really, genuinely enjoy Overwatch although only in the casual sense (I don't own any merch, never actually purchased loot boxes or anything, actually haven't played in > a month now because I've been busy.)

It's not the be-all-and-end-all of games, but it is fresh, polished, and definitely one of the best to come out of 2016.

And truth be told, I'd been running out of games that have any kind of replay value i.e. ones that don't just gather dust once you've beaten the main quest line/story/whatever.

@Felek666 I'm casually browsing the Internet and i'm using 4 GB of RAM. I wouldn't be able to do anything at all on this PC with 2 GB. (Plus it would be super slow, 4 GB was a hell for me, 2 i couldn't imagine)

I actually like that game too.
This free week end gave me occasion to try it legally.
So first I just played two characters (Ange & D-Va)
I just think this game need like you said bit more map, but yet map is really well made and have some details I really loved !
Also one big point is voice acting, I do not know if other language does that but I loved French language !
