DeadlyFoez Vs. Wii Mini - Can it be hacked?

DeadlyFoez Vs. Wii Mini

Q: What is this?
A: We are going to find out once and for all, can the wii mini be hacked

Q: How are you going to make this happen?
A: I plan to remove the Hollywood package and the NAND chip from the Wii Mini board and put them a donor RVL-CPU-40 Wii motherboard

Q: Are you sure this will work?
A: IDK. There are so many things that can go wrong from my mistakes to extra things that Nintendo may have done to prevent this

Q: Why are you doing this?
A: Because I like a challenge

Q: Where can I watch?
A: We will be live streaming on Saturday, June 1st at 10 pm EST.

The only challenge I see is
  1. why nintendo would do this as late as they did
  2. who would want this anyway
  3.
Though I like the red and black color design. :ninja:

@Sonic Angel Knight
1. To sell the left over hollywood and broadway packages
2. People that don't know what they are buying but just want to get something for their kids or grandkids.
3. I agree

So, the idea is to just remove chips from the wii mini and put them on a full size wii board?
How exactly is that hacking the wii mini?
It's interesting to say the least, but I doubt this will work (properly), considering the limitations the wii mini has.

My thoughts:
Not to be rude, but to be honest I think this is probably pointless. From my understanding, the idea is to move the Hollywood package and nand to a classic Wii mobo, because it has WiFi chip, SD card, etc. This could theoretically be used to hack the Wii mini. However, it has been discovered that the Wii mini's nand lacks the IOSes needed to communicate with both the SD card and WiFi chip.
This means the wii mini nand won't know the SD card and WiFi chip are even there.
However, the physical traces for stuff like sd, WiFi chip and GC controller ports and memory cards are still actually on the Wii mini mobo. On a Wii forum called bitbuilt, GC memory & controller ports, WiFi chip, and SD card, have actually been soldered to the Wii mini by a guy known as "ShockSlayer." The discovery was that the software on the Wii mini's nand cannot communicate with any of these devices except the GC stuff. Nintendo removed the IOSes for SD and WiFi, but for some reason didn't remove MIOS. (which handles GameCube stuff) (Sidenote, because the Wii mini still has MIOS, you can actually still play GC games on it, it's just that the Wii mini's disc reader cannot read those games. This can be solved by either using a drivechip or using an OG wiis disc reader.)

However, don't lose hope! Just because what OP is proposing probably isn't an entrypoint, that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. GameCube memory port exploits were breifly discussed in a Wii Mini Hacking discord server, but MIOS is extremely locked down and doesn't respond to you. An exploit is virtually impossible with anything GameCube related.

Next logical option would be something with Miis. Unfortunately, the Mii channel on the Wii mini has no option of allowing Mii transfer from either the Wii remote OR 3ds. However, transfer is still possible within individual games. (Such as Wii sports or Wii play.) Miis themselves are very locked down, and are only read, not executed. Maybe an overflow glitch is possible with names, and there are a few games which store custom data on the wiimote, like inzuma eleven, but a USB exploit is probably more worth our time.

A USB exploit would probably be the easiest way to hack the Wii mini. I own a Wii mini hacking discord server, and that has been the most discussed entrypoint as of late. FullMetal5 (the person who made flashhax and str2hax) is in that server, and has been tinkering around with some stuff in asm, and was able to crash his mini with a facedancer.

If you have any ideas or are simply interested in reading what we have so far, (not much tbh) then feel free to join the server:

TL;DR

the thing OP is talking about probably won't work, but a USB exploit might.

@CaveStoryKing64 Never assume
The idea is to remove the hollywood package and the nand chip and put it on a regularly wii motherboard. Once I have it on there I can then hook up my wode. Using specifically crafted discs I can either force an update if N left updates into the code, or I can launch homebrew from this crafted disc. The wifi and SD card will not work right away, because the modules for the wifi and sd in the IOS's in the wii mini are removed. So we will need to install normal IOS's first to get sd and wifi working. All I need at first is to just launch a disc that can run xyzzy so I can get the keys.

I have previously already tried hooking up an SD card to a wii mini and found that nothing will access it no matter what.

So once the I have all of that figured out and working then I can put the hollywood package and the nand back onto the wii mini, but I will also be able to install the wifi card as well.

And if all else fails, then I will just take the hollywood and nand from the goos working normal wii and put it on the wii mini and then it will be fully running with homebrew, but that is kind of cheating.

I have a few more tricks up my sleeve, but I will only both with those if this method does not work.

This is not some uneducated idea that I pulled out of my ass. I have been thinking about this for a very long time.

Gee, I actually wonder if we can get internet working by re-enabling the IOS that uses internet and by using a USB to LAN cable.

@Trash_Bandatcoot We need to find a way to execute homebrew. With that we can have the keys and rebuild a nand image with all the missing parts thus enabling internet, the sd slot, the wifi and also the usb-ethernet. If you plug the ethernet adapter (even the official one) on an unmodded wii mini nothing happens.
