A Dedication to All My Fellow GBAtempers

3479695-2619395.jpg

In following news worldwide, having watched videos and read articles about global events, this very well could be my last blog entry. I've been a follower of Jesus Christ since I was very young, and although my life has not worked out at all the way I had hoped it would, I've managed to cling on to my faith, even when hope seems all lost. I believe that our world as we know it is ending, and therefore I would like to thank everyone who has helped me and conversed with me on GBAtemp.

My Dedications - GBAtemp

To @MicmasH_W - Thank you for being there to talk when I wanted to share stuff with someone. You're the closest thing to an actual friend (all the other people in my life, save my parents, were just "mutual relationships"), and I hope we are able to meet in person soon, especially if what I suspect will happen next year happens!

To @Chary - Your blog posts of your Iranian father have made me laugh, and you seem like a very sweet and intelligent person. Thank you for sharing your funny stories. I hope to see you in the air soon! :D

To @Alexander1970 - Fellow Rock Bander! Thank you for your support and encouragement. It's because of you that I'm proud to actually do stuff like this for free, for all the world to use and modify to their liking!

To @NoNAND - You're a pretty neat guy, and I thank you for supporting me, also. I hope you're able to find happiness soon.

To @the_randomizer - Fellow Christian! Get excited, Jesus is coming to get you - and you'll get to play with all the furry foxes that you want to! Stay strong there, Fox Boy! ;)

To @AerialX , @Rudi Rastelli , @tueidj , @Mrkinator - You guys probably won't see this post, but because of your work on RawkSD and various Rock Band 2 and 3 Wii tools, I was able to make a great guide and collaboration of software. Many thanks!

To @NewkTV - Your guide ROCKS, but I'm sorry I won't be able to repost it. I don't know if any of the Beatles members will make it to heaven, but even if they don't, it was great hearing their music while we're still here, wasn't it? TBH, I hope the angels know how to play Yellow Submarine on their harps and flutes! :P

To @Larsenv and @DarkMatterCore - Your contributions to Rock Band Customs have helped immensely, and even though I never referenced your software, I recommend it highly to anyone who loves Rock Band. Many, many thanks for your great software coding skills! :D

To @Manuelasparkles - You're a bubbly person, and I hope you get to meet a whole bunch of wonderful people when your life is over.

To @Costello and @shaunj66 - Thank you for this GREAT website! If technology like computers exists in heaven, I hope we can start another great site like this one there. I'm thinking - hacks to the fabled AngelGame 2.0 console! :P

My Dedications - Discord

I honestly have no idea who all on Discord follows this blog post, but I hope that they will eventually see it.

To Jay Tholen - Hypnospace Outlaw is a great game, and I enjoyed being a part of the Discord community. It really helped give me some creativity, and role-playing as the R3v3lator (I recommend playing Hypnospace Outlaw to understand that name) has been a lot of fun. I also liked listening to clips of your dad's band Love Feast playing some original gospel songs. I hope we make great music together sometime soon! Of course, I still have yet to learn music theory...

To Farottone - Thanks for working with pksage to make a great website dedicated to Rock Band hacking! Customs Creators Collective - you guys are the best!

To Alternity - I apologize for driving you away from my server because of our argument. I hope we can still be friends? Your resources have been very beneficial, and I thank you for your contributions.

To TrashRBPlayer - Despite our differences in what we think is right or wrong, I still would like to thank you for helping out. You gave some good advice to some amateur Rock Band hackers, especially for Xbox. Don't let opinions stand in the way of trying to have good relationships with others.

To StackOverflow0x - You're the real reason I got into Rock Band hacking to begin with. Your guides are AWESOME! Thank you for everything you do to make Rock Band hacking on the Wii and Playstation easier for everyone!

To Doctor Timbrwulf - You're a very close friend, closer to me than other people may think. You're just like the big brother that I never had. Thanks for existing! :P

To Gracilie - You're a very sweet person, and you stood up for me when others ridiculed my beliefs. I appreciate that very much. :)

To Col. Jack O'Neill SG-1 and CrEaTiVe - Thanks for a great Christian gaming community that stands for Christ - and video games! :D

Other Dedications

To the guys at XDA - All of you! You really rock, and I enjoy reading a bunch of your articles.

To Greg Farshtey and Christian Faber - Hey, as a Bionicle fan, I'm glad you guys are still around. Hope the rumored Gen 3 is still able to be made - it may have to wait until heaven! Anyhow, you guys are great, and I like your creativity. I wish I could have contributed more.

To Saturo Iwata - I hope you're not in Hell, because you did so much good here on Earth. If you are, I hope God gives you another chance!

To Shigeru Miyamoto - I like bluegrass, too! :D Thanks for such awesome characters!

To Reggie Fils-Amie - A great businessman, and an aggressive guy who knows how to sell a product, even if it wasn't the best of ideas. I hope we have more people like you work for Nintendo.

To companies that I play a lot of their games - Capcom, Cyan Worlds, Valve, TT Games, Nintendo - You guys rock!

To my family - Especially certain members, but yeah, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for any of them.

To HarvHouHacker - Because why not? :P

Disclaimer

Since so much of this information that I have absorbed about upcoming events has just been discovered, there is a chance that I could be very wrong. If I am, you will see me return sometime at the beginning of February. If not, then this account will be dead for a long time, and there won't be any posts in the new year. I don't believe that I am wrong, but I offer this disclaimer to any skeptics out there.

Stay safe, and God bless you all!

"I believe that our world as we know it is ending"
People, nominally Christian, have said this every few years for... centuries at this point (plenty proclaiming it for the black death in Europe in the 1300s, the 1450s saw the end of the Byzantine/eastern Roman empire and some considered that the end, the 1500s saw the protestant reformation and with that some considered it the end, seventh day adventists quite famously in the 1840s, Jehovah's Witnesses pretty much since the start). Been wrong every time too. Various reasons given for each of those, usually some dubious maths or retranslation of a bible, but even if we take the less ambiguous passages in common translations of the Christian bible there are plenty of criteria left unfulfilled at this point as far as I can tell.

Why is this point in history any different?

@FAST6191 It mainly revolves around a lot of the things regarding the Book of the Revelation, or the last book of the Bible detailing a lot of what's referred to as the Great Tribulation. Essentially, stuff regarding the Third Jewish Temple being built, the whole situation with vaccines and how governments are making said vaccines mandatory or, if they aren't being made mandatory, then businesses will want proof of said vaccine. Either this would be done by presenting some sort of digital passport on your phone or, in a case of being unable to legally participate in a lot of the things you and I take for granted in modern society such as being able to get a job, work at that job, and buy basic, pre-made necessities of life regarding stuff like food, toilet paper, or even being able to pay your bills like electricity, require one to be implanted with a microchip. You know, the Mark of the Beast, as it's called. It would be implanted either in one's right hand or forehead, or so the story goes.

Whether it's prophecy, an allegory regarding Christian persecution from Nero going on at the time of writing, John on the Isle of Patmos (the author of the Book of the Revelation) possibly being on drugs for whatever reason, etc., its a book with lots of interpretations which also require reading of what is mostly the second half of the Book of Daniel, some passages in Isaiah, stuff mentioned by Jesus to his disciples in Matthew 24 (which also has a verse warning about Harold Campings and those like him, something I wouldn't accuse OP of, btw), and, while their canonicity to the rest of the 66 books considered to be "inspired" is...questionable at best, the Book of Enoch and the Dead Sea Scrolls also have information that's supposed to be prophetical about the "End Times," which isn't even technically the end because after the Great Tribulation, God and his angels pretty much rule the Earth kind of like almost all of the Order endings in the Shin Megami Tensei games for a thousand years, then there's supposedly a big, final war where Satan/Lucifer is killed for good and...everyone's in Heaven forever, pretty much. Also, in Revelations 18 or 19, there's a city called Babylon being mentioned, and while Babylon is modern day Iraq, some have theorized that, given Iraq's state atm, and that John wouldn't know what America is, that details describing everything going on in this "Babylon" might be referring to America.

I'm sure @MicmasH_W and @HarvHouHacker might use terms that wouldn't make sense to those outside of Christendom, but that's the gist of it.

@Silent_Gunner I am familiar with all the stories there (prophecies of doom/end times in religions are some of my favourite parts when learning about them) and general previous accounts. I however don't see this as any different to all the previous times where such people had attempted to make a connection like that, hence the small list of previous times people declared such things

Similarly vaccines are largely mandatory anyway -- some yummy earth mummy rocks up with kid in tow to my day care and "oh measles is not that bad so we didn't get young Jimmy done" then "second word is off" is the how that usually goes.

It is also being rather selective in its reading of such parts of the bible -- not much in the way of a world government, singular world leader and religious figure to back them.
Personally I like the "I will be with you to the end of the age" things where people try to figure out how long an age is (and to be fair most ancient astronomy would place the end of the age as "any day now™") as you at least get some fun maths and translation fun with that one (many will translate it to the end of time, whereas if you have any knowledge of ancient Hebrew and Aramaic then end of the age it is and thus we get the debate between ancient and king james version on top of the literalist vs liberalist vs literalist is wrong as clearly there is simile and metaphor within it).

"Faith without works is dead" The world will always seem like a bleak wasteland if one isn't helping others. I know I would rather help somebody then wait for all of our untimely demises.

I've expanded my dedications to Discord and other places. I also convinced my buddy Timbrwulf to leave a few dedications of his own (he had to type them out himself in a text editor and then send it to me via Discord). I'm only asking him because we're very close friends, and he really didn't feel like leaving it on Steam or elsewhere because, as he put it, "I'm not doing that sort of thing; YOU are!" Funny guy...

Anyway, Merry Christmas, everyone! :D

EDIT: For anyone who is taking my words a bit too literally, this is not a REPLY. This is just another comment on what I'm doing to this blog post. I'm still keeping my word.

Well, we know how this turned out, didn't we? I'm no longer going to assume the end will happen, and that my life needs to stop because God could come back. I'm not saying the Apocalypse will NOT happen; I'm just not going to try to predict as much.

That said, I will say that the time is very soon, quite possibly in my lifetime... but that's all I'm gonna say. I guess it really IS true that "no man will know the day or hour of [Christ's] return", however, that could change as time draws near...

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
