Hi,
tl;dl: Another console broke... again
note: take the following with humor, or second degree.
I already talked about it few times before, and I'll talk about it again today.
My belief is that one has an amount of chance and misfortune they can deal with in life, they are both in a balance and it's higher side decides what happen to you next.
some people have a high unbalanced amount of either fortune or misfortune, some people can have all the good things in their life, while others only encounter issues and disasters.
in my case, I feel like I have as much of both, the balance is stable and a little amount of one thing make it lean to the other side.
When something good happen, something bad follows...
And that's why I try to live in a somewhat bland, eventless, empty life.
I know that everything can happen anytime, and it's not a cause-effect thing, it's just *surprisingly* in sync, or at least, I look for matching event to explain my bad luck
• 5 years ago, I got my first apartment I could afford with my salary after years of search. and I got a power surge which fried : PC, TV, PS4, PSVR (some of them were replaced thanks to warranty)
• Last year, I met my first girlfriend at 42 ! yay \o/ : My wii died (almost, either file-system error to reinstall from a NAND backup, or worse NAND cell are dying)
• This week I finally could find and order a PS5 after 5 month of search and anticipation !!! : I still didn't receive it, just ordered. I hope nothing bad will happen with the delivery. Planed for tomorrow.
I also feared my PC died again.... and hoped it won't happen and ... it didn't yay \o/ !!! I broke that curse !!!!
until I boot my PS3 and notice the weird sound it made : HDD died, so I lost things I had in it. account, savegames, games (I probably don't have anymore)
Too bad old games are not all available on PSNow
Well, I really hope this is just the HDD and not the PS3 hdd controller.
Well, there I am.
Always having issues after good things.
Maybe I should try to have bad things for a change so I can push the balance wayyyy low on bad luck and can have a few good things to follow.
Well, I don't want bad things to happen to have good things. I prefer my usual bland and monotonous life. Please, let me have it....
I have :
- PS4 with fried HDMI port. working HDD.
- PS3 with dead HDD.
I guess I'll try to put the PS4 hdd in my PS3 and restore the firmware.
I will lost my account/files/saves/etc. as I mistakenly wanted to try to link my account to PSN....(resulting in a non zero'd account ID anymore so I can't restore my backup'd files on PC) but I already did, can't be worse, can it?
Well, worse would be PS3 (cfw) actually died, not the HDD.
I thought I'd require the OFW "reinstall" version, not the "update" version ?
But i've read someone's thread about changing his HDD, he said he needed identical or higher version of the "update" firmware.
I wonder what the "reinstall" firmware is used for....
maybe it depends the used console ? some console have all the firmware on NOR, some console have half on NOR and half on HDD.
so, now I have two console to take care of, and I feel more and more overworked, overwhelmed. probably the aging effect
Edit:
blog bug issue fixed thanks to tj_cool
