^I agree with this. I likely would have never come out on here if not for a few lovely women who've already paved the way. It's not so much a "trend" where people want to become trans because it "gets them attention" or whatever as it is trans people are feeling more comfortable with coming out because they realize this place has become a more welcoming space for trans people thanks to prominent trans voices being accepted on this platform. I'm certainly not transitioning for attention, I can just get attention by saying offhand comments in a politics thread and it rocks.

And also it can be pretty clear beforehand who's gonna come out as trans and who isn't actually trans so it's not like people are just suddenly becoming trans out of nowhere. I know how to spot an egg.

Anyways I actually think puberty is the best time to explore your gender identity, puberty blockers are reversible and many effects of hormones are reversible as well at younger ages. For me I'm still pretty very young and still going through puberty but I'm transitioning in the later stages of my puberty, which has its irreversible pains. If I had transitioned earlier, my voice wouldn't be as deep, my shoulders as broad, etc. At a younger age not only can you transition without being stuck with unwanted gender characteristics but you can reverse the changes of hormones if you choose to detransition before you exit puberty and it becomes too late.

Of course there are always risks but I'd rather transition during puberty and risk detransitioning young than be forever stuck with the unwanted results of a testosterone puberty that are only changeable with expensive surgeries (facial feminization surgery, vocal surgery, electrolysis, etc).

I doubt you can know that at the age of 13. Also don't take puberty blockers and become a castrato.

@Plstic well I don't care about your personal doubts hahaha... do some research. I'm not saying you should treat every child who claims to be trans. I'm just saying that a lot of us know at a very young age...

Apologies beforehand to the Original Poster; feel free to delete this if you feel it's getting away from the original Topic.

My 2 Cents on this current tangent, especially from living in both Eastern and Western Cultures.
In Western Cultures, people tend to lump ideas about Transgender together too much and then cherry-pick what suits their current mood.

For example, U.S. News broadcasts about how Transgender Females are physically no different than those born Females because physical differences are a mental construct.
A few days later, same News outlets broadcast the fact that Females are more prone to suffer from Zoom Fatigue due to the mental trauma of looking at their reflections for long periods of time.

Pick an effing lane.

This example predicates the next set of paradoxes that Eastern Cultures see in the Western Transgender idea.

It is accepted law that Children are not old enough to drink alcohol nor consent to sex.
Not because they're too short to reach the Liquor Cabinet nor because they don't understand sexual pleasures, but because their brain is under-developed and is in no position to make decisions that can impact them both physically and psychologically at this stage.

So why in god's name would they be mature enough to decide to Transition.

We have a thriving Transgender culture in Asia, phobia isn't the issue.
Age is.

Here, the common sense approach is when you're old enough to be accepted as an adult then feel free to do whatever you feel to yourself and live your best life. Not before.

It’s amazing how quick cis people are to doubt trans youth as if they have any idea what it’s actually like to be trans.

I'll resist the urge to go full Academic but, again, if this veers too Off-Topic, then feel free to Delete.
I have zero problems taking myself out of the conversation, as my Post History should show.

This is the year 2021 for the Western World.
We have many technological advances.

In the time of the Romans, the average Jewish Female age for Marriage is 12.
In the Renaissance, Romance novels were still of the same age range, including Romeo and Juliet.

Physically, there is nothing wrong with Marrying, Sexual Intercourse nor Childbirth at this age; if anything, our 2021 technology would actually make that abundantly easier and thus more accessible.

But that's not how Human Culture works; with the increase in Health and Average Lifespan, our Cultures unanimously felt that Childhood show be extended. There are even theories that, with more Lifespan increase, we will extend it even further along the age lines.

This is why our so-called Modern societies have more Fields of Studies on Children and put more focus on Childhood as being the experimental phase of Human adjustment, preparing for the age of Adulthood, which has been pushed back Culturally to be past what is now known as Teenage Years.

We didn't have this before, and we don't actually need to.
But we want to.

So while History shows we have Ancient Cultures that dabble in Child Sexuality, there is no need for today's Children to rush to that decision; our cumulative advancements have given Children more years to play. So they should as this builds better-rounded Adults.

Similarly, the current Western Culture has devolved into Binary options; Black and White, Right or Wrong, Heaven or Hell, with limited Grey. This is also evident in the Cultural Differences between Western and Eastern Transgender and Sexuality roles and even the Western coined phrase that Bisexuality is the Gateway to being Gay.

We know from History and from our fellow Natural World that all Animals are sexually opportunistic, within their own species and even inter-species, because it is hard-wired to pleasure and satisfaction.

Putting people into irreversible boxes so easily and expeditiously is potentially dangerous, both physically and psychologically.
Hence the Childhood Phase our Civilisations have worked centuries for.

As expected.

If ever you do, though, the answer to your sarcasm is right there, in those lines.
Feel free to check back at a later time.

@tomasowa I read through what you said multiple times and none of it actually makes sense. Quite honestly just comes off as trying to sound smart by saying a lot of stuff.

I feel like my earlier comment addressed many of the complaints about transitioning young but it seems people ignored it in favor of spouting weird pseudo-intellectual bs so I'll reiterate in more detail:
1. effects of transition are easier to reverse when you are younger, it is easier to detransition when you are younger.
2. most people don't detransition
3. if we don't allow trans people to transition until they have already undergone unwanted changes due to puberty then surgeries/procedures to reverse these unwanted changes are both deeply expensive and inaccessible. In addition, it is very traumatic to go through puberty as a trans person and feel your body change against your will just because some cis people think they know better than you do.
4. No one is forcing anyone to be trans. People are trans of their own volition, not because "the media is pushing gender ideology" or whatever related disproven lies you have. People have been trans throughout history and before the media existed. People will be trans throughout history and after the media stops existing.
5. Not everyone who is trans even undergoes hormone therapy, everyone's journey is different and some people simply don't want to do hormones.

At the end of the day, the notion that transition implies permanent irreversible effects is proven false time and time again.

@tomasowa wat dafaq? Can you give ELM5? Because none of that made sense. All it felt like was you mean before you became an adult at puberty but today you're a kid until your 30s? Or what?

Unfortunately, I don't need the validation of sounding smart to a group of strangers online.

Whether anything you don't grasp nor care to study is automatically labelled pseudo is more a statement of where you are academically, not mine.

My goal is to bring rational arguments, but there is no obligation for you to feel they are.
You do you is starting to be a routine thing I say here.

C'est la vie.

"You do you" is fine 'till you try and pass laws on this shit.
which has happened btw
