I have been playing: Pikmin 3 on the Wii U - That game is addictive !!!

Now that my WiiU is hooked up again....and I got a hacked together charger for my GamePad :rofl2::rofl2:....I have finally committed myself to do some actual gaming on the thing! When I just got it I know I have played a bit of Captain Toad and Donkey Kong but other than that...not so much. I did get quite the collection over the last few years....at some point it became even MORE than my regular Wii games!!

I started a few days ago with the idea of playing a bit of Pikmin 3. I have played it a few times with the GameCube version but not that long really. I still liked it a lot though, which is why I got it for the Wii U and just never even played it! Anyway, the story is a little different but the idea is pretty much the same. You find pikmin and make them do stuff for you...while you just stand around watching them! What's up with that!!! But just exploring the world and finding fruit, fight animals, mourning the lost pikmin at the end of each "day". Just makes you want to go for just...one more....and another...and another.....! I have been playing it for like 6 hours in one session!!! :O:O....and no...my gamepad battery did not last that long! Had to recharge it while playing! More on that later  One it got to the point I looked at the clock and it was 01:00 AM I though...ehm..maybe I should go sleep or something! :rofl2: My hands were also really painful from holding the gamepad that long....man that thing is heavy if you think about it! Might be just one other reason people did not like the Wii U as much!

Before getting my Wii U ready for homebrew I had been thinking for month about getting another one....just in case something happens. It might fail, it might become a brick....who knows right. And my favorite webshop had enough of them for a good price....so I just went with it! This was after modding my gamepad cradle to charge it over USB...with loose wires everywhere and stuff, hahaha. I also ordered a pair of USB GamePad charge cables with the idea that might come in handy....and it sure did last night!! While playing the LED started blinking really nervously that it was almost empty.....just when I was fighting a boss....or rather the Pikmin were fighting him I guess ...but I did not want to stop! So I grabbed one of those cables....and a powerbank! Charging...and continue playing!!!! hahahaha:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

I think it took about two or three hours to fully charge....while playing the game at the same time. It seems to have taken about half the charge of my powerbank which is 10000mAh....but also about 5 years old. Still...not bad I think for using it and charging at the same time...and not being required to use the actual charger to the wall! :D

I have received the "new" white WiiU with all the essential cables with it. I had doubts about which one to get....the white one or the black one. The only real true difference between them I have been able to figure out is obviously the color and the internal storage. 8GB for white vs 32GB for black. The price difference between them was less than 20 euro's....and I got one of the "more used" white WiiU's now that has a few scratches on the gamepad screen. I have not looked at it in much detail yet....since I have been playing Pikmin on the black Wii U I already had. I also like to clean them a bit more when I receive them....especially these days. It's not like they are really gross...but in the edges I can see the dirty stuff...I don't want to touch that...you know! :( I might even have to take the gamepad apart completely to give it a good clean! But just a quick surface cleaning will have to do for now so I can at least test it out.

So that was my solution to not finding the charger for my gamepad....buy a second console! Hahahah:rofl2: Just kidding ofcourse, I was already thinking about it long before that. I am sure that stupid charger will show up in a few days. It's just that for almost all other consoles I have plenty of spares....since they are cheap enough to get. The WiiU is just a bit "Too much" to have a lot of laying around. To give an idea....I stopped counting Wii's at 10+...that might include at least 3 Wii mini's. Then there is 4 GameCube's. And 6 3DS's one of each different model, but not variation. Maybe like 3 DSi's and 5 DS's. Then 3 GBA SP's of which one is an AGS-101, and two non backlit GBA's. It get's more modest with the PlayStation's though....only a Slim and Phat model for those. Yep, I REALLY need to sort out my stuff.

You might be wondering why I even have so many consoles at all? The 3DS's are a different story....I just wanted all models there were. But not so much every color variation. Having this many turned out to be useful while testing the 3DS version of my homebrew game. When one of them was empty I could use another one that did have some power left. The GBA's I got mostly last year when trying to port my homebrew and to have the option...to one day...when we are allowed again....try one of those multiplayer gba link games to the GameCube.
The many Wii's are simple to explain....they are just DIRT CHEAP! Easy to mod! And I had plans to mod them into portable wii's.....and then thought it would be a good idea to have a couple of spares around! And the PS2 phat I got simply because I think it looks cool....but its HUGE compared to the slim! I would like to have a few more PSP's for the same reason...spares if it breaks. But the one's I can find are just a bit to expensive I think.

Finding out about the easy FreePSXboot for the PlayStation 1 makes me want that one too.....but I have been able to control myself so far! First put the "extra's" I currently have into storage so there is more space! Then make sure to fix a couple of bugs in the homebrew game! Make background music and sound effects work on ALL of them!! Then....maybe....I give my self permission to start looking for a PSX again! Hahahah:rofl2: (I don't think I will keep myself to this BTW...but it's nice to have goals and rewards right? :D)

This one got all over the place and really long. Hope it was fun to read. :D

You just reminded me that I have that game. Had a fit of nostalgia, pulled the switch out of the cabinet to buy pitman 3, played for a day, back in the cabinet. I might play a bit more today.

True! After playing for hours with the stylus control...just for fun...I tried to control the game with the "gamepad mode". I must have lasted a whole 7 seconds to switch back!!! hahahaha:rofl2:
