Damn America, Your taxes are so low.

Yesterday I crossed the border with my family to go shopping at Buffalo. Over there we also went to the Fatima Shrine which was a church that had a bunch of statues outside of it and the church itself was in a dome shape, with a Mother Mary statue at the top.

After that, I went shoe shopping at Fashion Mall (apparently, that's what it was called) and bought 2 pairs of shoes. Nike Santa Cruise Premiums at the Nike Outlet Store and a pair of High Cut Converse at the Converse store.

I was amazed since my Uncle gave me $100 USD to spend on what ever I wanted there. I guess it was a reward for baby sitting my cousins for 3 days. Damn was it worth it.

The Nikes were $50 and with tax was about $52 or $53. Then the Converse were $45 with tax was like $46 or $47. I was amazed at how low the taxes were. Just shocked... Too amazed. If I can find a picture of them online, will show it to you guys, and if not, I will take a picture of them in my spare time.

After all the shopping we went to Apple Bees which is sorta off topic, but we crossed the border once more and at the Canada side. Mhm... It was good, just my ribs were sorta... burnt.

That was the last time we will see them for today, but they were planning on getting my family to go to California which is where their family lives. Since today, (everything was yesterday) they were all gonna go back to California. And yesterday, we did as many things as we could. That's why I wasn't very active at the Temp. But hell... America, your taxes are so cheap! I think I might buy all my stuff from there xDD. Gaming consoles, clothing, shoes.

And the plan was to send my sister and meh, to California next month xDD. Soo excited if this really happens. Then I can go check out the stuff there, and my family is also planning on going to New Jersey! Which means we are planning on going shopping once again! Maybe I can find myself another pair of Nikes at a cheap price, or better yet, get a pair of Adidas since I don't have a pair of those yet xDD.

But my feet are still growing... So am still thinking of whether to get shoes or not. I am shopping for Size 8 shoes and my usual feet size are 7. I guess I grew out of them, and sometimes, I even go for a size 8.5.

Anyway, America, your taxes are hella cheap xDD

The tax over here in California is 9.25%. It's the reason I order online all the time.

Taxes are probably low due to lack of things like free healthcare. I noticed Splych is from Canada.

Like someone just said above me taxes in california are 9.25%. Its not gonna be as low sa it was in New York. But the tax rate can fluctuate in different areas of california.

Tax in West Virginia is only 6%. Too bad WV is ranked 49 or 50 in all the good things such as healthcare. Also not that many business because the state taxes them to hell and back.

Here, sales tax is 9.25% for clothes. 7-something % for food. We have some no tax holidays too at certain dates every year.

Hehe, i'm also in Ontario. And with that new frickin' harmonized tax next year? Damn.

That's why I love to visit my aunt in Pennsylvania, and go shopping. A 360 is REALLY 289.99, not the 289 + ~$37 tax. (forgot they lowered it to 13% :glare: )

But i really feel sorry for others, like in England. They pay the same, sometimes more except IN POUNDS.
And that 19% tax in NZ? I thought it was bad here!

My wife is from Ontario (and still living there until we can get this damn paperwork finished.) I'm from Michigan, and our sales tax is 6%, plus any food except prepaired food at a restaurant is tax free. So if you go to the grocery store, depending on what you buy there can be no tax whatsoever. My wife avoids shopping over in Ontario if at all possible for this very reason. It really adds up.

Can't remember who said this, but I have a quote book from forums online I find funny. This fits PERFECTLY.

Everyone says America is cheap, It's not. Lets say you buy a $1 lollipop (yes, a lollipop.) Now, tax in California is... lets see... 8.25%. Tax would then equal... let's see... 0.1212 repeating. It rounds to the nearest tax cent up, so instead of paying 12 cents you'd be paying 13 cents. IT'S CHEAP I TELL YOU!

I absolutely can not believe that I'm the first to point this out. We have to PAY for our health care. Insurance without assistance can easily be $400/month/person for someone in good health. An employer might cut that expense in half, but there is always out of pocket expense that has to be paid as well. I would gladly pay triple our taxes to be given good health coverage.

Iffy which state you from!?

I am from Canada, and I think healthcare is convered... At least I think it is x). I am gonna ask my parents...

Yea, I thought our taxes were bad... Just reading more about other places, it seems soo expensive *_*

One reason why I am gonna go to New Jersey. Taxes are somewhat low... But one thing is for sure, taxes are lower then Canada's. But I just can't remember the city we go to xP

Tropicana, the 12% tax. How cna you enjoy it!? Go to Buffalo, Newyork for me... You can buy waaaaay more things with $100CAD in Buffalo, Newyork than Canada. The tax in Ontario is 13%. It boosts the cost of whatever I buy... I think the taxes for books are 8% or was it 5% but all I know is that they may be planning on increasing the taxes for books to 13%.
