Mystery Cat

Okay, so there is this weirdo strange black and white puffy cat which has been lingering around and meowing all the time and doesn't have a collar, what do I do? I can't tell if it is a boy or a girl because I don't want to pick it up or brush away it's fur down there in fear of getting mauled or something but it seems to purr around me and brush up against me. Also my two cats who go outside a bit only one of them I've seen near the cat and feels weird about him/her and tries to avoid it. Now I'm thinking that my encounter has made the cat want to linger around my backyard wanting food or something. I really hope it goes away because lately I've been hearing weird growls and hisses so I'm starting to think that it may be bullying my cat(s). Though I think I have seen that cat before and I think it was the one that got my other cat pregnant :/. Anyway has anyone got any advice for me? Should I leave it be or hit it with a super-soaker to get off my lawn?
Picture related, it's the creepy ass cat.

Take it in, it's gorgeous!

A few years back, a cat found its way to my house while I was having pancakes for breakfast. It kept meowing and meowing that we threw some pancakes outside, and the cat ate all of it and wouldn't leave.

We kept her, but unfortunately, after we spent a couple hundred dollars getting it de-sexed and wormed, etc., she ran away a month later and we never saw her again.

Still, the experience was totally worth it :D

I say, keep the cat, it looks very clean and if you've already got a cat, you should have no problem taking care of one more.

Well we kind of did that with a stray before and finally found it's owners, and this cat is a bit dirty when you feel it's fur. Though I guess I can give it some food and a bit of attention from time to time as long as he/she gets along well with my cats.

If your unsure about the cat, and it's disturbing you and your other cats, try to shoo it away, better yet call an Animal Agency or a pound to come collect the cat, or put up some signs advertising the cat, saying that it's lost and someone might collect it.

Yeah, I've printed out a few pictures of the cat and information about it. I'm going to put them up around my area tomorrow.

1) why isn't your cat neutered if you don't want it pregnant?
2) if you feel it is a stray, then you should take it to a cat rescue centre and they will scan it for a microchip, if it is owned (by a responsible owner) it should have one if it doesn't have a collar.
3) it looks a lot like one of my cats, only its markings are slightly different (and its on the other side of the world...)
4) if it is hungry, it could be trying to keep your cats away from prey. hence the growling.

Awwww, the kitty is adorable ^_^

I'd suggest keeping it, but after reading how much Hehe Moo paid for a complete kitty overhaul, I say take it in for now and find the owner or a new home for the kitty as soon as possible. But don't leave it out in the street.

I would take that thing in a minute.

It reminds me of a cat that wandered around our cabin-like lodge we spent a week in, in the woods, and one morning, this cat was crying from the back door, and of course me, being a cat lover, wanted to bring it home and whatnot, and of course I got the "No!" answer. That cat was so friendly, it would sit in our laps on the swinging chair, it would be by the hot tub with us when we went in, just very friendly.

I miss that cat...

Awww, I'd keep it its cute

I remember we had a stray cat around here when we were younger, I think it lived in our shed or something. It was all dirty and shit but it was really nice. We would feed it because it always looked really hungry (how ever we only had dog food because we only had dogs at the time). It lingered for a couple weeks, we treated it like our own and then it just left and never came back.

I remember we had dogs come here too, one week there was a dog that just randomly showed up, my sister said that it came from the woods and right behind our woods is a small neighborhood so I took it there and the first house I went to wound up being the owners of it. Then the next week after that, my friend and I were swimming when this random dog just comes walking up the side of the pool and I was like "Wtf?" so we took it and tied it up on the pool balcony. It had a name tag, but the people moved from the house XD so we just left it tied up and then I guess two kids were out looking for the dog and saw it all the way from the road (which is pretty far) so they got their mom and they took the dog back.

Those are my only stories, I hope you keep the cat though, its uber cute

Our cat got desexed after her having babies, I can't take it to a rescue center because it only comes around once and awhile and at inconvenient times D: (Though we did this with a creepy black cat before). Also it has nothing to do with prey lol, my cat was just angry because she saw it marking some territory.

if it is marking territory, it is almost definitely a stray (or feral) as it hasn't been neutered, if you can't take it to a rescue have you considered calling the RSPCA?

why are black cats creepy?
