Ah, yes. Pokemon HG/SS. It is as awesome as I remember it. I'm going to go slow and not consult the 9000 resources out there for movesets and the like.
I went to EBgames at 11:00 am, and there was a crazy line up - about 8 people (usually the EBgames is very quiet up here), and I had to battle a bunch of snot nosed brats for the game. I did preorder, and I didn't get the figure. (Damn it - if anyone doesn't want their Lugia figure, I'd trade for it.)
My university had a bunch of people meeting up for Pokemon games. It was cool, even though I caught the tail end of it. Mostly trading, and I got to use my event distribution package to give people free Pokemon! I even gave myself the Japanese 10th annivery mew! (It made me laugh - some of us started the game and got a Mew!)
Pokewalker (1st Impressions): It's cute. It doesn't rattle like most cheaper pedometers. I'm tempted to bring it on a jog/walk, instead of the one from My Weight Loss Coach. The screen is recessed into the plastic, but still looks like it could get badly scratched through normal play. I wish that they had more animations for the Pokemon, although that would take up a lot of memory space to design. Another beef is that it seems to have trouble reading off of the card, unless it's extremely close to it.
The Game: Well, the background graphics are 3-D, and a lot more impressive than Platinum. The sounds are all remixes of the classic Pokemon tunes.
Dinner: 20 pieces of Pizza Bagel Bites and a cup of Ribena. It wasn't too bad, and now I have a spearow on my Pokewalker.
