I Played the 3DS :)

Dear Tempers,
Today was a great day :)
I played the 3DS :S It was awesome...

In brief
SSFIV: I found it not a good as its hyped up to be, though the graphics were great.
Link OoT: Brilliant easy to pick up and play, intuitive controls, didnt get to play much but was really fun. It also does a really cool thing where your using the slingshot the gyroscope controls it.
Nintendogs+Cats: Lots of fun the 3d is amazing, I through a boomerang and actually jumped when it came flying back and the way to interact with the pets is heaps better now.
AR Cards:Not sure what card i was using but it was really fun and extremely accurate
Face Raiders?: not sure if thats what its called but that was really cool you take a photo of a face and you start shooting it and it then tries to attack you, then someone had played it b4 me so then their face came up and i somehow saved it?? anyway it was really fun.
Mii Maker: It was okay the face thing was funny and theres more customisation but its okay...
Camera: The camera is AWESOME it feel like your looking through a window it was fun

I made a video its pretty bad quality and they wouldnt let me have it on while it was on because aparently stupid people might look at it and be like 'Hayy dats nooot FweeDee'.... Anyway had to be quick they didnt really like me videoing it

I also noticed the buttons at the bottom were not capacitive but were the ones like you get on cheap nokia phones with the rubber on top i asked them if they were going to change and they said probably as this was only a dev kit. (also there was a dev button or something on the home menu and i clicked it and it went black and asked for a dev key ?)

Also ask me questions and i will answer them :)

If you can stare at a computer monitor for hours (like me), you can probably see the 3D for an hour or more.
^-^ I've been staring at this monitor for more then 12 hours now. I can probably take it :D
So is it really that eye-popping? like true 3D? or just the fail movie 3D?
It's more like dept 3D not the pop-up type.

Edit: I usually stare at monitor for hours so i don't think that'll change anything.

Playing it for how long?
For around 30 minutes.
Was you already sleepy at the time?

How well do you take 3D regularly?

Maybe you just have to get used to it.

This is what worries me. A lot of people are saying they get headaches, nausea, dizziness etc after playing. A lot of the reviews I read complained about it too. I think I'm definitely going to try it out before buying it.
No, that from the minority. Nope take it back. :P

Depth or eye-popping. It depends on the game.

I tried it at CeBIT yesterday, only Kid Icarus though...
Graphic-wise it really is a lot better, but i can't see 3d because of a lazy eye :(

So it'll be like we're staring INTO the 3D?

Were most of the demos depth or eye popping types?

That was my first time seeing 3D. There's really no reason to worry, my friends also tried it and had no headaches afterwards. I'm just part of the group that gets headaches with the 3DS.

@Arithmatics Yes that's what i felt when looking at the screen.
How did the analog stick feel?
You need to get used to it, but after a minute or two it feels really natural.

The 3D is my biggest concern. 'coz I'm getting it just for that. :creep:

I wanted to know how the 3D would be like because honestly every 3D movie I watch only had 1 good actual "arrh" sort of 3D feeling. for example How to train your dragon where at the beginning the water splashed 3Dimensional like (even when I watched it in 3D). (it kinda failed but I still went "ARRH!")

So I'm just wondering if this 3D would be a depth sort of 3D or an eye-popping one. because I'd prefer it to be an eye-popping one.

Sadly there's no gamestops or EB games or whatever credible gamestore in Malaysia where they could/would possibly have a demo set. *sigh.. I guess its time to move to Singapore.

Was really impressed.
Was the AR in 3D? or was it enjoyable even in 2D like the ones on YouTube and the trailers?
when you used the gyroscope did the 3d mess up or was it not noticeable?
Slightly though it didnt take me long to get back to my sweet spot
Do you like the blue? Does it look good in person?
The blue looked great and felt reat in my opinion

Its different for different games in nintendogs things came flying at me and the boomerange i through made me jump as it came right out
Though with SSFIV it was more like your looking into a fishtank

Fantastic

The AR was in awesome 3D iirc

how heavy was it? did it feel as clunky as the ds phat? How big are the ridges that are meant to be so you can open easier?

I didnt feel much weight difference at all compared to the dsi and no i didnt feel chunky at all.
I also totally forgor about the ridges though you can see in the video, i didnt notice them at all

cool, well at least it's sleek unlike the phat *shudders at the thought*

sorry, another question: what were the L & R buttons like? (The same style as any of the previous versions?)

They felt really nice they were a bit more raised then the dsi ones but the same clicky style

Oh thank god, I hated how close the DSi buttons were to the casing.

But what about the ABXY buttons? And the D-Pad? How were they? Clicky?
