Final Fantasy X-2

How did this game not sell a lot more?

Sure the voice acting is spotty, but it's a lot better than the prequel. The gameplay is also a lot of fun. Not better than X's (because I prefer the turn based stuff), but still fun none the less.

It's my first run through it, so I'm trying to get the absolute best ending on my first time through (though I'm sure I'll mess up somewhere).

Like I said, I'm more of a fan of the turn based battles, but I could get used to the X-2's system. They should bring it back instead of reinventing every installment.

I've also been looking to buy a guide to help me out. Yes I know about Gamefaqs and that it has guides that help, but it isn't really as effective. Not to mention, I like collecting game guides :)

I'm sure someone will read this, so before I post in the WTB section, does anybody have a guide that they're willing to part with (depending on the price). Can't say I'll buy it for sure though. That's why I put this in the blogs section. (MODS DO NOT MOVE IT)

Just figured I'd also say, Rikku is probably the hottest girl in Final Fantasy, well in X-2. Before it was Tifa, but god dammit, look at this!

I'm not into video game girls, but IMO:
Adult Rydia>Tifa>Rikku

Anyway, compared to the hellspawns that were X and XII I liked X-2. No Tidus = better game. Anyway, it was probably fun to me because I was young, I'm going to hack my PS2 and self pirate it to see if what I remember is what is actually fun.

I liked Tidus. He was my main guy that I leveled up in X. Voice was annoying, but dammit he was my savior in that game. He could pretty much one hit every enemy and boss.

Though I wish I didn't level him up so much (triple AP ftw) because Omega and Ultima were not strong at all.

great game, i liked that clothing affected what type your character became and atributes it had. i still enjoy FFX more though, maybe the leveling system in that game was interesting to me and made it more appealing, but both games are amazing, i am glad that FFX had sequel. and i had all 3 endings, dont remember how to get them since i havent played it in a long time. although i think i remember that to get the best ending you have to beat the game at least once, dont remember too well though

Apparently you can do it in one sitting. This guy posted on GameFAQs a guide that's basically from the Ultimania guide saying it's possible. But if you miss one thing, you're screwed.

I was playing it and at the beginning of the game you have to go to Luca (well after the Mt. Gagazet level), and you have to do that memory thing with Yuna where she's in a Moogle costume. You have to find Rin (Al Bhed seller from X) in a locker room, but I have no idea how to get there. I completed the level thinking I wasn't done, but nope. So I have to start over.

X-2 was kind of meh for me.
I really liked the battle system. Loved the idea of putting classes in a grid you can move around and changing classes mid battle to suit needs; However, it was far too girly for my tastes. I felt like I was changing a Barbie doll.
I thought the story was pretty bad as well, seemed lazily done to me.
It has been a while and I should actually give it another shot, though.

I just read up on this and it actually got really great reviews.

Loved X-2. I liked the whole pop thing to it all, along with the battle system which I actually preferred to X. X was almost too much of a breeze.

I'm annoyed at the people who strayed away because they thought it was too "girly". It's a good game, I don't fucking care if it goes against your sexist assumptions of manliness.

People do need to play this before they judge it. It's really an interesting take on traditional FF gameplay.

So I'm trying to get the 100% in one play through (yes it's possible). Except early on in the game, I'm having trouble. I'm having to restart because after one point, you're supposed to have 13% of the game completed, but I'm only getting up to 12%.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

The part says to go to Mi'Hen Highroad just to get Yuna to talk about her memories about walking there with Tidus. I go to Luca, then I just walk up the steps to get there, and she talks about him, but I don't know if that's what I'm doing wrong. So I'm going to try and restart, and go to Mi'Hen from the ship.

It's really bugging me that I can't figure out what's stopping me.

Also, I still prefer the battle system in FFX, but FFX-2 has a great system too.

If you're willing to pay for the shipping to Canada, you can get the limited edition guide new off of Amazon for I think it said about $40, regular for $30. Kinda spendy, but worth it for a collector.

Oh ho. The special edition strategy guide can apparently be three different covers. It can be one of the three main girls (Yuna, Rikku, and Paine I believe is the last), but you don't know which you will get. Exciting.

I don't want a new one, just a used one will do as long as it's in somewhat good condition. Or a guide for XII would be great too.

Well I suppose it was a good thing I asked instead of posting in the WTB section eh ;)

I fell in love with FF-X never got my hands on X-II though....and also Rikku isn't my type... :/
