Ph.D. Program - Applied Statistics

Hey Everyone,

A while back I took a poll on the age group of GBAtemp and some other forums. During the same time I was filling out an application for the Ph.D. program at my university in Applied Statistics. Using the poll on GBAtemp I used the data to strengthen my application with examples. I have just received word that I have not only got into the Ph.D. program but I will have full funding for the next 4-5 years (which is the length of the program).

If it wasn't for programming, statistics is the field I would have chosen. The story that numbers can tell can be so much more succinct and powerful than page after page of BS.

I am actually a computer tech so it's kind of funny how statistics people also enjoy computers. I am a super number and pattern person and statistics just seemed right.

Congratulations! I find statistics oddly enjoyable as well, though haven't had as much time as I wanted to actually study it enough :( (Also, had an exam of it today, though just basic stuff). (the course belongs to 3rd year of M.Sc. However I'm in my 6th year now X_X)

    I want a 120hz 4k tv but crazy how more expensive the 120hz over the 60hz are. Or even more crazy is the price of 8k's.

    Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.

    I only watch tv when i goto bed, it puts me to sleep, and I have a nas drive filled w my fav shows so i can watch them in order, commercial free. I usually watch Married w Children, or South Park

    I stream from Nas to firestick, one on every tv, and use Kodi. I'm happy w it, plays everything. (I pirate/torrent shows/movies on pc, and put on nas)

    I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
