TL;DR: more of the same, as far as I remember, but it's still a good time for me, personally, because I'm a sucker for Destiny.
*thumbs up* Thanks for giving away the base game for free (until the 18th), Bungie*. I pretty much saved $20, so now all I just need is Destiny 2: Forsaken.
So, it's been well over a year since I last played Destiny 1 on my nephew's PS4, I don't think I ever finished The Taken King, but he probably finished it, so eh. With D2 being free for keeps, it was a perfect chance for me to get back into it, because I certainly enjoyed Destiny 1. So far, it seems more of the same, but for someone like me, that's probably not a bad thing. It's got the same Destiny feel to the music and the same visuals and most of the same mechanics, but I'm not sure what's new other than the story. I'll probably be getting Forsaken for Christmas, and I've heard great things about it.
It runs AMAZINGLY smooth, very steady 60 FPS and looks great, though I swear it drops to 30 FPS during cutscenes. I kept the visuals on default, though, so I'm guessing the cutscenes are in 30 FPS.
Laptop got rather warm, as is typical for gaming laptops in general, so I just used Cooler Boost. Loud fans, but hey, it keeps the GPU relatively cool so it'll last for a while.
*With the whole Blizzard debacle going on, this is very important to note: Yes, I did say Bungie's the game away for free, BUT the catch is that it's free on Blizzard's Battle.net client. With the whole shitshow going on with Diablo Immortal, I can see why this catch would be a turn-off for anyone looking to get Destiny 2. I will say, though... I'm not a fan of the Diablo series, I'm an outsider looking in, but it's godawful how Blizzard's handling this whole thing.
