Erm...

IT DOESN'T TURN ON AT ALL ANYMORE!
excuse the stretching, I had to downscale this video to qcif via FFmpeg, and it disregarded the video being in 16:9 in turning it into a gif. It has not left my desk since the top screen broke, let alone come into contact with water.
Additionally, my older launch-model New 2DS XL is right next to it, powered on, both screens working, and every shoulder button nonfunctional. I might try to sell these to obtain more money and order a higher-end Steam Deck as I haven't been able to place an order yet due to circumstances outside of my control. But yea, it's dead jim.

wait, update
I just realized that holding Select indeed brings up Luma3DS's config, and Start brings up the chainloader and was thrilled to finally get into the HOME Menu through the chainloader, so I thought it might be a problem with the CFW. Using NTR CFW and Luma3DS's debugger, I was shortly able to see the top screen via my PC. Then I moved my New 2DS's hinge, and it immediately turned off. Dang. I shifted through my chainloader's FIRMs to see if it would happen elsewhere, and shortly I got to firm_linux_loader, where I noticed this:

It's all because of the hinge. Thank goodness I don't have a Tri-wing Y0 screwdriver, or else I could actually fix this!
