Final Exams

So I did all of my final exams for each of my classes except math.
They were pretty **eh**.

My scores were
Writing: 600
Civics: 553
Science: 535
Reading: 509

here in Virginia the scores are weird
the maximum score is 600
if you get a 500 or above, you're advanced

Wish me luck for my math exam tomorrow!

Also uh
The reading one was the type where you couldn't go back and check an answer
what kind of drugs were they on when they thought of that

Is civics basically history class? How odd. ACT tests don't really give you the time to go back and re-read or change answers, so I can kind of see why they didn't let you edit your answers. Perhaps they're trying to be akin to that.

For the tests where you can't go back on, they make the questions easier or harder depending on whether you got the answer right or not

Well, I wish you the best (600)--show them people who play video games as a hobby or an interest aren't your stereotypical arcade junkies...even though it's been proven, but rub it in their face.

Since when did Virginia have state-wide final exam grading standards making them out of 600 points?

"Standards of Learning assessments in English reading, mathematics, science and history/social science are made up of 35-50 items or questions that measure content knowledge, scientific and mathematical processes, reasoning and critical thinking skills. English writing skills are measured with a two-part assessment that includes multiple-choice items and an essay.

Student performance is graded on a scale of 0-600 with 400 representing the minimum level of acceptable proficiency and 500 representing advanced proficiency. On English reading and mathematics tests, the Board of Education has defined three levels of student achievement: basic, proficient, and advanced, with basic describing progress towards proficiency."

I never considered the SOLs to be a final exam. Had no bearing on your grade in class. Just another BS exam to take that teachers are forced to teach against rather than having any kind of individual influence on what is taught. I remember taking an AP history course where the teacher told us with full disclosure that he teaches the class the way he does because of the SOLs. When we started approaching the time for AP exams, he started holding optional after school classes where he taught what he wanted to teach how he wanted to teach, and I learned far more in those sessions than when in the class where he was forced to teach to the standardized exam.
