First Impressions: Breath of the Wild for the Wii U...(some spoilers!)

Let me preface this with - I do not understand 3D spaces. Hence why I died in the first five minutes after failing to climb down from the Great Plateau's tower. Ow...poor Link!

3 hours in, and I'm loving this game. It's like someone poured a survival game and the skeleton of a LoZ game into a blender and then hit the handy pulse button. Scour the landscape, find enemy camps, raid those camps for stuff and pick off enemies with your bow and arrow. My only problem is that the gamepad is huge and feels like I'm stretching my hands everywhere (I have tiny hands and I can wear youth/kids sized gloves), and there is no distinction between the L/R buttons and the zl/zr buttons.

Enemies feel smart (I had a low level red boko do a jump attack, luckily he missed!) and reactive. There were some hairy moments where I forgot about weapon durability and had to switch on the fly to something else!

The shrines are pretty awesome. Find a shrine, solve a mini puzzle and get rewarded with new and fun abilities. So far, just using the magnetic powers is a very different feel than your typical LoZ game. Moving and thinking in 3D is not a strong suit for me, but I have a feeling that I'd spend way too much time with this.

Cooking in LoZ is awesome, although I miss the red potion for extra health thing! (I have a feeling that we can make it in game.)
