Hooray, I'm no longer suspended

I wish someone could tell me why I was suspended, I wish I had a speck of recourse, I wish I could defend myself. But of course I don't expect any of that from gbatemp forums. Someone posts a racist PDF, I speak out against the racism, and I'm the bad guy. What does that say about gbatemp ?

If anyone is wondering about the details of this bologna, the posts were blasted off the face of the earth with nary a trace. That's how things get done around here. So I guess it's my word against the group.

Knowing you, it was well deserved.
Wish it was for longer, I didn't even get to notice you were gone.

Screw Hells Malice, yuyuyup. That happened to me, one of my topics was completely gone. It was how KKK membership was down yet there were more hate groups. Except I wasn't suspended. PM me if you want to talk.

They're buttbuddies because of one of his blogs.
Dun mind him.
They're two morons peas in a pod.

If you have such problems with the staff, why not just quit? Seriously no one will miss you if you just leave the site. Hell maybe the staff will be able to have some free time without you hounding them every 5 minutes.

You remind of some kids I used go to school with. All they would do is act out in class and be real jerks to everyone, but when they got punished for it, it was never their fault. Honestly just take your punishment like a real adult and stop being a spoiled child over it. All you ever do is come on here, break some rules, then complain that you were punished two seconds before this guy was. Then to make matters worse, you blame the staff as if they stalk you for some reason and make a bigger fuss over it. At this point it's just childish and pathetic how you act on this site.
If you were to try to pull this on any other site, you wouldn't even have enough time to complain about it in a blog before you were banned. Hell I would love to see you try something like this in real life, like in school or at your job, see how far that gets you.

Well this is certainly a different tactic. Not really sure I prefer it, but dealing with your complaints has always been a pain. Don't see why this instance should be any different.

To begin, you know exactly who suspended you, and why. This isn't your first dance. I made it quite clear (mostly because of your griping about mods acting anonymously) who removed the posts. Your warn record gives my justification for the action. To paraphrase: "This is the most obvious trolling we've seen in a long time"

Your intent was to derail the thread, to elicit emotional response from others, and in general to cause trouble (for the umpteenth time since 2006).
That's why you were suspended
That's why the posts were unapproved
and that is why none of the staff are taking your complaints the least bit seriously.

You've made it abundantly clear that you feel that the moderators here at GBAtemp are ignorant and that you are better than them, as well as most of the GBAtemp community. What compels you to stay here, I simply don't know. But it seems to be because you want to cause as much trouble as you can before we ban you entirely.

Could you let me know why that thread was so bad ? Because a guy wants to prove a point, he googles and posts a pdf, the pdf CLEARLY uses the word "coolies" in a racist context, and I can't ask for better evidence ? What should I have done instead ?

Look man. I don't wanna stir the pot like this. I just wish I could get away with the occasional post that deviates slightly from the topic without it getting nuked off the face of the earth. But MAN there are rigid rules. It's difficult to stand up for an opinion in this architecture.

You could've not made a fuss? I don't know if anyone besides you cares about it; I know I've never even heard it, certainly not as a racist term, and the writing itself was dated. One dated term doesn't invalidate the entire work.

Please don't go complaining about terms Mark Twain's used in Huckleberry Finn books next.

The article reads "winter 1997-1998." As far as I know, it was not ok to use that word in the late ninety's. Why do you say that is dated ? Is anyone actually READING the pdf in question which is STILL POSTED on that thread http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/articles/marijuana/Medical_effects.pdf

The challenge worldwide is whether those citizens whose brains have not yet gone up in marijuana smoke, will fight to defeat NORML, financier-speculator George Soros, and the other organizations and individuals who are propagandizing for the legalization of "soft" marijuana for the coolies of the 21st century.

Just because he is referring to an older article doesn't give him carte blanche to say "coolies of the
21st century."

It's an unprofessional report.
The author probably forgot the quote marks.
Deal with it, does it really matter?

There is a history of marijuana laws being conceived with racist intent; marginalizing Mexican communities, the "C" word for Asian slaves, etc. That is why it pertains to my argument.

Well, they do stalk him. But they have a good reason.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
