I reviewed Super Mario Odyssey guise

I hate this game so much. All you do is jump. And run. Would not play again.

And I hate the reviewer for not giving this game a lower score. I can't believe projared and she who must not be named wouldn't give this game a lower score. Im like a lone warrior fighting against people that love this overrated trash of a game.

I have two friends that adore it, I've played some of it and I enjoy it, but it's too repetitive and too tedious when looking for stuff often

Tbh GBAtemps score was just to keep nerds at bay. 8 alone got the Temp shit on all over the place. She and I both agree that number scores in general are pretty useless. I'd be happy we didn't do what the rest of the sheep did and just blow smoke up Nintendo's ass with another 10.

@Hells Malice I would unlike that comment on she who must not be named. She deserves 0 likes for not representing GBATemp. An 8, HA. More like a 00.01% - 00.01%. She failed TEMP and she failed her lover Sonic Angel Knight.

So is reviews not considered official unless there is a scoring system? I mean I don't really care for a score of numeric values, but I just hate people always look at the number and find it the big deal, what about the actual review itself, what about the person's experience and their comments or opinions? The moment someone disagrees with a opinion, the problem starts. I mean I get people won't always agree but no reason to start insulting people. Couldn't we just post reviews without the scoring system?

The scoring system is hugely flawed, and I think it's something that should be phased out. But outlets that forgo the number rating system don't get put on metacritic, and tend to lose a lot of views from opencritic. You lose either way.

GBAtemp official reviews use the scoring system because of metacritic. Though uh...I don't think we actually get put on there yet. But that's why we still use it. I don't think opencritic requires a score, but Meta does.

@Chary I somewhat agree. I made a post about it in the Mario review. Maybe you should do away the number score in your next review? Arguing over numbers is pointless because the same numbers can mean different things to different people.

When it comes to music I never look at reviews. I just listen to what I like. But with games its different. Since music is basically free now. And with games your more likely to pay. So I can understand reviews for games since the limited amount of money you have, you need to spend wisely. Its like a gamble with your money, pay and you don't know if your going to like it.

Anyway, I just think the score is pointless, if someone can write a well written detailed opinion about their experience from the perspective of a viewer, then i think it is enough. No one needs to know "How perfect the game is" with a number score. Just say if you like it or not, if you would recommend it to, what kind of target audience it would be suited for. That is enough to get my attention, that and lots of visual stuff, maybe some jokes and pop culture references. :ninja:
