I reviewed Super Mario Odyssey guise

@Hells Malice Is it really a boring game or is it just a shit post? I'm not a fan of open world games (I really only like Xenoblade and Fable for the story driven parts, and I like the Elder Scrolls games but only for the sheer amount of quests). I didn't like the look of BoTW from gameplay videos and seeing my friend play it, so I'm wondering if this will be better.

Breath of the Wild did open world much better.

It's alright. But it's not really that great. The levels are fun for a little while but get boring quickly. About 5-6 moons in you've done approximately 90% of the fun content and the rest is just slogging through shit to try find the other boring moons if you're a completionist (I believe the desert has 49 moons to find), or moving on to the next world to avoid boredom. It's absurdly easy as well. Most deaths don't really feel like your fault. Most of my deaths in the desert level (first real level) came from sluggish bullet bill controls (and the accelerate button greatly increasing how garbage the controls were), or dropping off one of the many invisible platforms some level designer had a lot of fun making. But I didn't die much overall. Nothing was actually remotely difficult to accomplish.
It's charming and it looks really good visually, but there isn't much in the way of platforming. Mostly just using the hat gimmick, which is fun sometimes. You'll find enjoyment but there are lots of issues and it's definitely not as refined or polished as 64, Sunshine or Galaxy.

The problem with the scoring system is that everyone just gives the games they like 10/10 (or if they're paid by the publisher/get review copies). Getting rid of the score system won't do anything though imo because people still won't be honest and criticize the game because they like it. Anybody who's actually honest seems to get crucified by fanboys. Criticize the weapon durability or slipping while climbing in the rain in BoTW and people act like you're an idiot for not enjoying things that they like and should just play something else. Don't like open world games? People act like you're an idiot who needs the game to tell you exactly what to do (those are also the kind of people that start screeching when the game doesn't tell them where to go and call it poorly designed when they don't like the lack of information). They like a really difficult game then it's like Dark Souls. They don't like it? Then it's The real problem is that the modern gaming community is filled with a bunch of immature hiveminded hypocrites.

Yeah I'm playing it now and I'm not a fan. Collecting the moons feels like a chore because they're so spread out and there's little platforming. The hat gimmick is used way too much.

Collecting x amount of moons to proceed is like collecting Precursor Orbs in Jak and Daxter (or similar platforming games) but with added tedium. Where in other games you could backtrack and collect items you missed in Super Mario Odyssey you have to collect the necessary amount from that world. Even though you've already seen everything to collect half the necessary amount of moons you still have to search literally everywhere just to advance. I'm only halfway through the wood kingdom and it's already boring.

Shit voice audio is on me (haven't bothered to buy a good mic), but the shit video is thanks to Nintendo's amazing 720x1280 video clips. Straight off my Switch, that's exactly what the clip looked like, I didn't render out any quality.

and the scoring system is a problem primarily because people don't read reviews. Every person shitting on our Odyssey review didn't actually read it, they just saw the 8/10 and completely dismissed it. It's a problem catering to ADHD children like that. At the very least removing the score would stop retards like that. You'll never stop bad/biased reviews though. That's just the way of the world. You wont stop people hating a review for having a differing opinion either, some people are just looking to justify their opinion or purchase.
