Interested if I make a 'create your own save editor' video tutorial?

Do you guys think there would be interest?

I would put it on youtube, the code would be for Windows, Visual Studio, C#.

I would take a vita/3ds save (or any game really), find an offset like 'money', then we make an exe to load the save, display the value/money/hp, edit it and save the file.

There would be a sample save editor project for Visual Studio on my github to make things really easy.

People would be interested? Thanks :)

i tried the binding of isaac, i really didn't enjoy it, i tried for about an hour, it was difficult sure, but just a bit repetitive for me.
nice and funny, dark etc, but gameplay wise, not for me.

i'm thinking i'll do two games. so, the same thing, start to finish, find values and make the editor, but two videos, one for each game.

1. ds - castlevania - order of ecclesia
2. and ???

wow... look at this (unrelated) video, crazy:

this is 'my' youtube, not much on it - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC782-vlfFIaQQBrfGctdHtg

It's not made by Nintendo but made by fans there is!

@DeoNaught I was thinking that myself. I hope it gets close to completion before that happens. this is the style nintendo should have went with the franchise. I prefer the realism over the cartoon style, it makes it easier to connect with the game, not to mention its absolutely beautiful.

It seems I was lucky with the games/save editors I made in the past.

Gravity Daze/Rush not just has a checksum, but seems encrypted.
Phantasy Star 0/Zero is encrypted.
Children of Mana has a checksum.
Castlevania games for GBA/DS have checksums.
Mr Driller Ace has a checksum.

But the games I have chosen to make save editors for in the pasta, like Atelier Meruru and Phantasy Star Nova, had no checksums or encryption.
Lucky...!
So I want to find some more games that are don't have encryption (or have checksums that I can figure out, quickly I couldn't see work out the games above) - so that I can make a video :)

oops thanks funtime for your constructive comment, i forgot about this thing!
yeah, i still want to make it :)

You can move all your save i/o inside the software that leaves the save in binary. Bad design choice, great for blocking out hacker.

It would also be just as interesting to have a save data server for people to upload/dowload and exchange save data with a homebrew app on the system as well. So not only we can create save editors but have dedicated server to source it all. :)

If anyone has game genie for ps3 by hyperkin (creators of retron 5) Is basically a ps3 save editor with online server. You download codes, then use it on save editor, but you need internet cause it decrypts and add the save edit functions you select online before saving on your storage device. I use it mostly for poking stuff into games, i found rare items in rpg games added to my inventory. Has built in hex editor for advance save edits. :D
