Life has been quite dull lately.

Ever since I dropped out of school (I'd rather not get into details, so please don't ask about it), my life has just felt lackluster and boring. I regret dropping out, but nothing I can really do now, aside from taking the GED test and possibly going to college. I need to get a job as well, but I REALLY don't want to work somewhere I'll detest, such as McDonald's (I worked there before, and it was terrible), or a clothing store. I'd like to work at GameStop, because despite the pay, it's something I'd remotely enjoy. Gonna submit an application there sometime next month, so hopefully I'll get hired for the "holiday rush."

My life just hasn't gone anywhere since I dropped out. All I want to do is sit and play video games, do shit on my computer, and listen to music all day. I can't find the motivation to actually grow up. I don't know if it's depression, the inability to do certain things (I'm overweight, like 300 pounds or so, and it just seems that because I'm fat, I can't do most things other people can, and I can't), or something else. I've been like this most of my life, with pretty much anything I do...And even though I'd always try to push through, suck it up, etc. it just wasn't enough.

Oh well, enough personal talk...I'm excited for Minecraft 1.8. The new terrain generation features (Rivers, ravines, mountains, strongholds, abandoned mines, etc.) are probably what I'm most excited for. I really like the look of the NPC villages, but I probably won't interact with the NPCs too much. Then there's Gears of War 3 next month, which I have no idea how I'm gonna purchase. Quite a few of my friends are going to be purchasing it at launch, and I'd like to be able to as well. And then in October, Battlefield 3 is coming out, but I'm still not 100% sure if I'm getting it or not. And of course, November...Modern Warfare 3! I'm very excited for this, and I'll definitely be getting it on launch. I loved MW2, and this is looking to be a great sequel to it.

In other news, The Devil Wears Prada's new album, Dead Throne, was put up for streaming on http://www.deadthrone.com, and it is AMAZING! Not my favorite album by them (With Roots Above And Branches Below holds that position for me. :3), but it's definitely up there. People have already ripped the album from the SoundCloud thing (What they're using to stream it), so I downloaded it. I'm glad it was put up so early, as I'm going to be going up to my camp during Labor Day weekend, and I was hoping to be able to listen to it up there, just like I did with their last album. So yay for that.

That's really all for this blog. tl;dr: Life is boring, no motivation to do anything or grow up, waiting for Minecraft 1.8, Gears 3, and MW3, TDWP's new album is amazing.

I'm sure you know that some of the most successful people in this world where either high school or college drop-outs. Forget college, (really feel like paying all that money or having a huge dept burden loan for a piece of paper?)

Why waste all of that time as well? Having a degree, even If you manage to achieve that will still put you in the same boat as the millions of other people that have degree's. Also, unless you planned to put that said degree to work for yourself, (opening your own business or freelance) the degree would be just about pointless. Working for someone else degree or not will never get you ahead, (you'll always be living paycheck to paycheck at a certain status level, this is the way the system was designed.) The fact is working for someone else make's them rich and you a slave to the system. Think about It, you're only paid a fraction of what your value is worth and then you are taxed on top of that.

The key here is for you to realize your value through your talents that you already possess. Most people are willing to open their wallets in exchange for your time and skill.

For now I think the best thing for you to do is based on what you have said and your current situation is change your diet and get some exercise. Why? If you stay overweight you will keep getting bigger which leads to health problems and social problems and you need these both most of all above all else least you die and don't have to care anymore about life being dull. Once you have your body in order you can work on your mind.

Video games are good but you can't make them your everything or they will consume you and destroy your motivation to do anything else kinda like drugs. Here's some reading that you may find useful to help motivate and guide you.

Wow, I feel for you man, I hope you can get a job somewhere you actually enjoy working at, imo, if you work somewhere you hate, it's worse than not working at all. About your possible depression, tried looking into anti-depressants? I've heard that for some people they do work but for others (Like my mum and my friends step-dad) they change the entire way the person thinks, it seems after both were on anti depressants they both decided to cheat on their spouses... Hope that doesn't make you think in the way of not taking them...

Hooray for Minecraft 1.8, I was actually reading about all the additions, apparently there's gonna be 2 parts, I'm assuming it's in order to speed up the release. The NPC houses seem pretty good, sadly I may not be able to play after 1.8 because of the extra ram processing speed this will need, atleast not for another 1-2 months as I can finally build my computer...

MW3 and BF3, I'm only gonna get 1 at first because I wanna grab Uncharted 3 aswell, and in Australia, the games are gonna be roughly $100 each.

Anyway, I hope you sort everything out, I really do want to know why you dropped out but if you don't feel like getting into it, then that's fine.

I actually also dropped out of highschool. Now I'm in college and probably going to uni next year though.
So good luck with getting into college :)

Also, good luck with finding a job. Maybe you should find a job that is a bit physically demanding. That way you'll lose weight and earn money at the same time! It's what I'm planning to do anyway..

AND I CANT FUCKING WAIT FOR 1.8.

Pax is over, and I am very tired. Time to fly home and finish up 1.8. Much love![/quote]
So I hope it will come soon!

All I have to say is Good luck with getting hired at Gamestop. Oftentimes Gamestop is ran by a guy, and that guy hires his closes friends to work there. They seldom hire outsiders. Trust me, I have tried at BOTH Gamestops in my town. I currently work at my local Sam's. Do I like my job? It has it's ups and downs. It's not perfect, but it is my first job.

Gotta have the boring, stressful, mundane, job that pays balances out the fun relaxing downtime.

WORK makes playing games, old and new enjoyable again. I find myself playing Pokemon Emerald and enjoying it again.
DJ's coming back! Heck yeah!

Back on subject. If you don't like the job you got, seek another one while holding the one you got.
Remember, the US economy is not at it's best. Getting a job is much harder that is was a few years ago.

I don't get dropping out of High school. To me, it's on of the single most stupid things you can do in life. Same with not going to University.
Then again, our system here actually makes it worth it to finish High School and getting a degree is pretty cheap, compared to you guys.

Working on the sales floor in retail is fairly physically demanding. You spend roughly 8 hours of the day walking at a fairly brisk pace, non stop (except for a few breaks). If you push carts, well hell that is even MORE physically demanding.

I worked the sales floor in Target for a little under a year, and since then the electronics manager is trying to get the HR executive manager to transfer me permanently back to electronics (which is definitely my strong point). Less walking around, but it's hella fun :D

Well, people have their personal reasons for it. It's not something they WANT to do.

It's funny how people with issues usually state the solution without realising it.

It's good that you've taken steps to find work, keep it up. There are many who don't realise how much of a rut they're in and never look to find work, or improve their situation in general.

You seem motivated enough to complain about how you only play video games etc. so you definitely know that it's not good for you and are somewhat willing to change that (looking for work for example).

The other thing you should do is join the gym, after a while it'll feel like a routine as is the case with your video game playing. You'll also begin to find that the more busy you are outside the less time you have to do some of the things that you complain about doing right now. In some cases you may learn to appreciate/enjoy it more.

But really, I'm not saying anything that you didn't already know.

I know...I mean, I know what I have to do, it's just, I can't find motivation to do it. The majority of it is me being lazy, but there's always something that sets me back, whether it's something physical, emotional, etc.

I know college, a good job, and a good future life are things I could be motivated in getting, but it just seems so out of reach at my current state.

Anyway, thanks for the support. First things first, getting the GED over with.
